I am wondering if Drover is doing the thing with Queens as a one time thing, given the fact that he lives in Toronto.

As for the art of the other Queens I probably wouldn't have noticed the FU shot unless you pointed it out haha.

It is a one-time thing. The 'real' Queensryche has a full line-up. They probably wouldn't ditch their other guitarist unless Chris Degarmo came back.

Geoff Tate is just an endlessly fascinating guy. Almost as fascinating as Mike Portnoy.

In other news, the only good album from these guys is still Operation: Mindcrime.

FU is an acronym for the name of the album (Frequency Unknown); so I'm not sure it's really supposed to be a "fuck you" to his former mates. Although Tate is a faggot like that, so I could see him doing it.

Exactly. This whole thing is a joke.

It's a bit like the Cold War, where there's not really a lot of direct physical contact or communication between the two bands. Everything is a bit subtle and hidden between the lines.

According to Sputnik they sucked even with Tate, so I'm not expecting any new brilliance in songwriting by the "real" band simply due to the replacement of their vocalist, nor am I expecting anything exceptional out of the ex-vox's ragtag cover ensamble.

Is this band really worth this much attention? They put out one classic album and a few good ones TWENTY YEARS AGO. They have been completely irrelevant since.

I will check out both, if possible, but Queens has never been my type of music.
