College Dropout is awesome, Late Registration is fantastic, graduation is good, 808 is sort of shitty, and MBDTF is one of the best hip hop albums in the 20 years.

His lyrics aren't necessarily shitty, but there are definitely more than enough better lyricists and flow-wise better rappers out there. (Canibus despite being as much of a narcissist, Busdriver, Flashbang Grenada, elzhi, Illogical, El-P, Doom, sometimes Yelawolf, Billy Woods, partly Tech N9ne ect.)

Then there's old Outkast, Gang Starr, the first Bone Thugs N Harmony, De La Soul, any DOOM release, Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic ect.) Even if some of them are maybe 'just close'. (I don't have 100% correct dates in my head)

I'm not saying MBDTF is THE best of the last 20 years, it's just one of them. I'm saying it's in the same class as those albums (madvilliany, Illmatic, Enter the Wu-Tang). I'd actually rank it 4th out of those four releases.

Kanye is a great producer and a mediocre rapper. That's it. He's nothing special on the mic, but his beats are good. He fell the fuck off.

I laughed out loud at some of MBDTF's lyrics. He's not the best rapper in the world, but they are very entertaining nonetheless.
