This band is full of awesome, minus their past few releases.

what exactly is wrong with their past few releases? granted i'm not too terribly familiar with them but the modern stuff sounded like pretty typical but still enjoyable death metal (similar to what cannibal corpse are doing nowadays)

blood oath and the s/t are great as far as im concerned. souls to deny was the only unimpressive album they released, and i find even that somewhat enjoyable. im glad theyre still releasing albums.

I liked their last couple of releases so I will definitely check out this album as well.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh...I don't strongly dislike their newish releases (other than Souls To Deny which I found incredibly boring), but they're nowhere near as awesome as they should be. The self titled had some really cheesy bits, but Blood Oath was a little better.

the problem is that their new stuff doesn't even approach the quality of the classics. i'm all for bands continuing on if they can provide unique and interesting music (even if it isn't as good as their classics), but everything Suffocation has put out recently is mediocre at best

Never been a huge fan of these guys, but hopefully this'll change my mind.
