My 2012 just got infinitely better. Omni was a sold album but i hope to hear a return to the menos el oso sound.

Omni was great, interested to see which direction they take this. I don't want a rehashed Planet of Ice or Menos El Oso.

If it sounds anything like Highly Refined Pirates, Menos el Oso, or Planet of Ice, it will be great. If it sounds like Omni, it'll be alright.

@inveigh, yea planet of ice is one of my classics as well. i tend to get really butt hurt when a follow up album to one of my classics isn't up to my expectations, thus giving me a harsher opinion of it. new TMoE had the same initial effect on me but i finally gave it a few more listens, thinking i should do the same with omni

yeah I don't think that's an unusual feeling to experience. very rarely do artists release two classics in a row, so a lot of times the follow up ends up being overlooked due to high expectations (look at Deftones' self-titled, Johnny the Fox by Thin Lizzy, etc)
