New Green Day Reissues Date

2006-12-20 by Jom | 5 Comments
As previously reported (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/news.php?newsid=1907), Green Day's two early albums - 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk - were going to be re-released on December 19th. Well, said date has come and gone, and there are no re-issues.

But never fear - Reprise Records has slated a January 9, 2007 date for the albums to be re-issued.

Reprise received access to the albums after the pop-punk trio pulled them from independent label Lookout! records due to contractual disputes over unpaid royalties.

Haven't 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours already been re-issued once? I remember I bought the old version and only a few weeks later the re-issue or remastered version came out.

I wouldn't be surprise if I got both of those cds. I wouldn't get them quick though. They're not that important to me and Green Day are only an occasional listen for me.
