Potential Blur Reunion 2006-12-08 by Jom | 1 Comments | As previously reported by Sputnikmusic news correspondent Spat Out Plath (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/news.php?newsid=1912), Britpoppers Blur have hinted at a new album with a re-united line-up.
Bassist Alex James recently told BBC Radio 5 Live that he met with estranged guitarist Graham Coxon about returning to Blur. Coxon left the band in 2002 to pursue a solo career (while frontman Damon Albarn citing problems with Coxon's "attitude," which seem to have included failing to show for recording sessions and appearing emotionally distant from the other members).
Coxon released Love Travels At Illegal Speeds earlier this year.
As for the meet-up with James, the bassist urged caution, stating that it was only an additional casual meeting between the ex-bandmates.
Previous news articles on Blur have stated that "[Blur have] invited [Coxon] to reunite on numerous occasions, however the success of Coxon's solo career and a perceived lingering hostility towards his former bandmates makes such a reunion unlikely."
Stay tuned for more info.
