Aren't these guys not a band anymore?
|
| |
Weird that this was put out. But cool
|
| |
Dean and AJ are pretty solid with an axe. I am not disappoint.
|
| |
I thought they broke up?
|
| |
^^^
|
| |
Didn't any of you guys read? This was all recorded during the Digital Veil sessions, they just didn't release it until now.
|
| |
yeah, like just cuz Tupac puts out a new album doesn't mean he's alive
|
| |
Wow I was actually expecting much worse than that. Pleasantly surprised.
|
| |
they did, but I guess this was previously recorded so why not, I'm not complaining.
|
| |
For a second, I was like, ' wut they broke up why how'
but then I realized that previous recordings can exist.
|
| |
these guys were really really good at their instruments and aj is a classical guitarist so i imagine this is probably great
|
| |
I am pleased to hear that AJ did not have anything to do with this. I think he would have interpreted the piece in a
much more musical fashion then was presented here. The opening section is a complete travesty as it is devoid of any
musical expression, dynamics or emotion. It sounds like someone programed the notes into a midi sequencer and ask
it to play it back at one volume and with a robotic tempo. Maybe Dean should have tried incorporating their classical
guitars in to this song, an instrument that is actually capable of producing some of these qualities that are essential to
classical music.
This is also some of the worst clipping I have ever heard on a commercial recording. I am completely surprised that
they asked for people to pay money for something that seems as if there was zero effort put in to the mixing of the
music. I loved digital veil and hope they continue on as a band, but this was something that needed a little more effort
put in to it, or should have been a free download at least.
|
| |
I want this now.
Edit: Eh, kinda iffy now. I agree about AJ. ^^^^
|
| |
they actually aren't broken up. according to one of the band members it was just some rant another member went on. i read it some where..
|
| |
On February 8th, 2012 guitarist Dean Herrera was asked on his Formspring page whether they would've broken up even if Travis hadn't left the band. Dean had replied stating that the band had never actually come together to decide the fate of the band. "as far as im concerned we aren’t broken up, that was Henry going out and spewing the inner workings of the band. We never actually came together and decided anything. I’m still real pissed at him for that. Sure we’re taking time, but that doesn’t mean anything other than that… Taking time.. As far as travis…. who knows… can’t say what might have happened."
Yeah, it isn't a 100 percent break-up.
|
| |
This... this is so good.
|
| |
Love that they finally put out this cover, but holy hell it really needs mixing/mastering. A lot of the instruments have the same tone as as on DV so I'm guessing it was recorded at the same time as the album, so it's really surprising to hear how disappointing the production is when compared to DV which had great production.
|
| |
Is this actually any good?
I'm too busy to go out of my way to listen to this right now.
|
| |
This is probably lame as hell
|
| |
these guys are mad faggy
|
| |
yeah, like just cuz Tupac puts out a new album doesn't mean he's alive
TUPAC LIVES!
|
| |
Yeah, I thought it was strange that nobody else in the band, or the band as a whole, made a statement about the break-up. I certainly hope to hear new material from them.
|
| |
Really glad these guys might still be a band. They need to get Howard from KSE to do their vocals. It would be pretty epic.
|
| |
it's on youtube, just listening to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiSPVs3CUI0
|
| |
hm.. could've been much better
|
| |
No, no howard.
|
| |
i didn't think it was awesome or anything. it clips pretty damn bad thoiugh. 3.5/5 for me
|
| |
lol @3:12, fantastic transition.
pretty cool cover though.
|
| |
"They need to get Howard from KSE to do their vocals. It would be pretty epic."
Lol fuck no
|
| |
some of these transitions are terrible.
|
| |
drums sound oh so bad
|
| |
thank god beethoven is deaf. oh and dead.
|
| |
Nothing compared to Jack White and Insane Clown Posse covering Mozart.
|
| |
Oh god no
|
| |
am I the only one who noticed 2 dollars for a song
|
| |
The song is like 15 mins long. You can stream it on youtube for free.
|
| |
cool
|
| |
"The song is like 15 mins long. You can stream it on youtube for free."
or I could never listen to it ever under any circumstance
|
| |
Howard Jones in The Human Abstract? Get real
|
| |
This was good but AJ probably would have put more emotion in the playing.
Dean is good but he's more like a machine at guitar lol.
|
| |
ehh. honestly expected more from them/him. also wtf transition at 3:12?
|
| |
yeah this wasn't that good
|
| |
AJ would have done it much better
|
| |
most likely
|
| |
for sure
|
| |
AJ would have done the same thing. He's just as mechanic.
|
| |
uhm no. cause AJ knows classical guitar. he would have done the entire performance better
|
| |
lol
|
| |
Knowing classical guitar doesn't mean much in this case. Playing this song on guitar is more of a showcase of technical skill than anything else.
|
| |
"AJ didnt play this?!"
Did you even read the article?
