I wouldn't have guessed p4k was into btbam but this is a pleasant surprise
| |
Was it really highly anticipated?
| |
meh
| |
Smells like P4k
| |
Drake? really?
| |
m/
| |
Katy B is a surprise
After reading their blurb for SBTRKT I'm happy to see them moving away from the stigma of post dubstep, though that the album made its way into the top 50 is interesting. Even more strange that it landed higher than Sepalcure
| |
What an awful list. youth Lagoon at 50?
Also, no WU LYF??
| |
Awww yeah Drizzy at 8. I was surprised James Blake isn't higher.
| |
Still don't see what all you lot are hearing in that Drake album, oh well
| |
Huh. I was really hoping Fleet Foxes would be higher on this list.
| |
have no idea why they like drake so much
| |
The Caretaker at #22, OPN a #6. That'll do pig, that'll do.
| |
" Still don't see what all you lot are hearing in that Drake album,"
They're hearing that pitchfork really thought ird be a cool thing to like
| |
is he seriously going by "drizzy"?
| |
Oh man that makes me wanna go back to that athf episode when shake becomes a superhero
| |
Oddly the only album out of the 9 or 10 I've heard on that list that I like is Bon Iver.
| |
Also fuck Liturgy the lead douche of that band absolutely killed any respect I had for their music.
| |
that tuneyards album was pretty stupid, but this is generally an okay list i guess
| |
Looks like a typical staff list
| |
No WU LYF = no credibility.
| |
nah
| |
Deviant, I really would expect you of all people to at least appreciate the genius production/engineering/mastering on the album.
| |
"I've been anxiously waiting for this since 2010's list dropped. Omg so happy."
sorry
| |
nnope vs. sarcasm
| |
satellite vs sarcasm

That means nothing if the songs themselves aren't good
| |
I wouldn't have guessed p4k was into btbam but this is a pleasant surprise
I saw no mention of them on the list.
| |
are these people getting dumber or just louder?
| |

There is a link to the full list at the top
| |
"That means nothing if the songs themselves aren't good"
But the songs are good. He just has a conversational lyric-style.
| |
There is a link to the full list at the top
I know but it wasn't on the top 50 either.
| |
smh
| |
I know but it wasn't on the top 50 either.
It was a joke
But the songs are good.
I know, and I'm saying I don't like them
| |
Should have known it was a joke but my brain doesn't calculate when it's 4 in the morning. What's worse is I rechecked the list about 5 times looking for it. I'm off to bed after doing that.
| |
Parts of this list made me cringe a little. Oh well...
| |
list is usual p4k
| |
why would anyone expect this list to be anything but usual pitchfork
| |
The list is a bit silly at some points, but the excellent writing more than makes up for its shortcomings. God, Sputnik's writers are amateurish.
| |
and apparently they forgot WU LYF, I will wait patiently for them to correct this blatant error.
| |
I'm also surprised WU LYF wasn't included, considering how much hype they gave the band + the 8.4 rating.
| |
I've heard them all except the Beyonce one. The best for me in this list are Girls and Kate Bush.
| |
the Beyonce album had some good songs
| |
i like the top 3 but the rest is :/
| |
solid, safe list as per usual, love the writeups for quite a few of these
| |
They might as well just post a picture of a fixie and a mustache in lieu of a list. Because that's basically the visual translation of what I'm seeing.
| |
Justin Vernon could drop the filthiest turd and it would still be 1st. Album was still great though
| |
Apparently P4K doesn't like Radiohead anymore.
| |
they gave Radiohead 7.9 and as far as i can tell most of the albums on this list got over 8.0
| |
Yeah, I thought they might get a mention or two in the top 50 tracks though. And this is the first publication/website top 50 I've seen that doesn't have TKOL in there, which is suprising considering the raging boner they've always had for Radiohead.
| |
"They rated Lateralus 2/10, will not read the list of some persons with an IQ smaller than 64."
They should just erase all of Brent DiCrescenzo's reviews from the site.
| |
I guess the list is okay. Seriously though where is wu lyf?
| |
pretty good overall. Surprised no Wu Lyf, A$AP Rocky, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, or Antlers (not even honorable mentions)
| |
Love that Drake is in the top 10. That album is great. Fuck the haters.
| |
Who cares if the Drake album is good or not. The real issue here is that Pitchfork fucking blows.
| |
I like Pitchfork
Bon Iver at 1 though? Kaputt was WAAAAAAAAAYYYY better
| |
surprised pitchfork hasn't jumped on the Frank Turner bandwagon yet. Seems like their kind of music
| |
Glad 4 was so high
| |
Damn hipsters.
| |
You people don't give Pitchfork enough credit; this list was an unexpected surprise, especially seeing Destroyer at the #2 spot. Honestly, Pitchfork seems to have made amends for their silly ways in the past decade, at least for me.
| |
like i expected this to be any different, ho hum hipsters
| |
No Antlers and Parallax as top 20? P4k disappoints me again.
| |
I can agree with this list for the most part.
| |
surprised frank turner didnt make the cut. not that i care about pitchfork.
| |
Typical Pitchfork.
| |
Garbage.
| |
The tUnE-yArDs may be the worst band in existence.
| |
Nothing too out of the ordinary for them, but I can get behind their 1-2 slots with Bon Iver and Destroyer. I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the WU LYF exclusion baffling.
| |
xDDD silly pitchfork hipsters typical!!!
| |
"The tUnE-yArDs may be the worst band in existence." I think it's just tuNe-yArds and they're pretty good. I just think most people here forgot about them.
| |
I like #1 and #2, but they are definitely not the 2 best albums to come out this year.
| |
Where the FUCK are WU LYF
Decent list otherwise
| |
wu lyf is overrated tune-yards are good, etc i dont give a fuck if you think theyre hip ok
| |
lol liturgy, fags.
| |
I wonder if Pitchfork would have liked Sit Resist...
| |
Some good stuff. But mostly just hipster bullshit.
| |
apparently liturgy is metal of the year lol
| |
Aaaaaaaand, nope nothing unexpected here.
| |
they did a separate metal list
| |
so many autistic manchildren itt
| |
@Yotimi
ah you're right, didn't see that
| |
8 is lol
| |
no_mastodon@invalidlist.com
| |
Mastodon's album sucked.
| |
oh....that OTHER music review website.
| |
list is pretty good
| |
i really only dislike 3 of these
| |
Lolhipster.
| |
lol drake
| |
Bon Iver. Nice.
| |
Needs more Manchester Orchestra.
| |
what the fuck does btbam stand for
| |
Serious?
| |
fake list.
| |
Well, they got EMA correct at least.
| |
EMA should have been #1
| |
what the fuck does btbam stand for
Barely there, but asking moronically
| |
no King of Limbs? ..
| |
THANK God no WU LYF to be found. I was readying my face-punching gloves
| |
I have trouble taking this site (P4K) seriously. They critisize The Mars Volta and Nine Inch Nails for being pretentious and contrived, and then jerk off to nothing but new wave/indie/folk.
With that said, I often enjoy 90% of their best new music lists, I just think they have a very biased taste and target too specific of a demographic.
| |
My problem is that there are some awesome albums on this list paired with shit albums.
| |
Bon Iver is NOT the years' best record.... surely...
#17 and #15 should be much higher imo.
| |
P4k just wants some recognition in the real world.
| |
SO they're posers?^

so fucking true.
| |
The lack of WU LYF was such a weird sad surprise. That album was better than that Drake thingy everyone is overrating.
