this band needs to fucking die
|
| |
It's like every awful aspect of music from the past decade and a half are reaching their inevitable conclusions. Hope the breakdowns are siiiiiiiiick
|
| |
I'm glad that they've combined two of the worst genres together. This will be a masterpiece.
I'm sure next year they'll release an album that's deathcore featuring Emmure.
|
| |
Oh, Emmure!
|
| |
will be awesome, album will be the next Untrue
|
| |
In b4 dev
|
| |
This uns gunz be a fuckin 5. Don't know what y'all talkin bout
|
| |
Probably gonna be a 3 at most.
|
| |
I'm actually interested to see how this sounds lol
|
| |
all hail the gods of nu-step. booghwakkahoooowubwubwubwubw
|
| |
I'd rather stick with their self-titled and life is peachy
|
| |
chugga chugga wab wab wab wab wab?
Get up was actually quite... refreshing. It had some weakness but was not that bad for a "1st try" in that direction. If the manage to make it a bit better, it will be an interesting album.
But I always liked catchy metal with some electro mixed in it, so I'm probably biased.
|
| |
noooo why noisia why
|
| |
^^ this.
And I wouldn't refer to Noisia as "dubstep producers". Asskick producers, yes.
|
| |
"It's like every awful aspect of music from the past decade and a half are reaching their inevitable conclusions. Hope the breakdowns are siiiiiiiiick"
It's nice to know that people actually take the time to research even a little the genres that they bash so adamantly. Of course when the regular listener listens to nu-metal, they dont hear breakdowns (because its a completely different kind of music that has them?) but when you do, oh yes you hear those pesky breakdowns that all the kids are talking about, that your landlord told you is ruining music while you listen to Fantasia and Kenny Chesny. So you go online, see a news story with the word metal in it and think, "Hey, i remember someone saying metal has breakdowns that are bad while i was masterbating to the american flag, i'll tell them what's what!" Now i hate nu-metal, but there's plenty of things to say about it that are factual (Fresh ideas ran out 2 months after it was started, shitty raping over shittier metal, etc.) By posting your ignorant ass statement, all you did was give the people that do like it another thing to use against us. "These fucking people think nu-metal has breakdowns, so they obviously dont know shit about it so what we think about it is right so were gonna make 20 more nu-metal albums." See what you've done. You single handedly created 20 more shitty singles i have to hear on the radio. In conclusion, think before you post ass-wipe
|
| |
I've been sick of these guys for like a decade.
|
| |
Noisia and Kill The Noise losing credibilty here
|
| |
Noisia y u do such a thing?
|
| |
will undoubtedly be one of the worst albums in the history of the universe
|
| |
i would love to see this get anything above a 1.5 rating from anybody
|
| |
I'm glad that they've combined two of the worst genres together. This will be a masterpiece.
I like how you know nothing about dubstep as well. Even though, me saying that in this news article really isn't helping
|
| |
"I like how you know nothing about dubstep as well. Even though, me saying that in this news article really isn't helping"
When referring to dubstep, I actually meant whompstep. The dubstep artists that I've heard, not being very many, are poop. So, I'm just going to continue bashing on a genre I know nothing about.
|
| |
It's okay, idoiocy suits you
|
| |
and thus dev continutes his, not always successful, crusade on clearing dubsteps name
|
| |
oooh dev misspelling idiocy
|
| |
Still sucks.
|
| |
lol this is gonna be hilarious
although I thought Get Up was ok but then yaknow, I'm stupid
|
| |
oooh dev misspelling idiocy
whoops
Still sucks.
It's alright man, blanket statements are awesome
|
| |
Deviant, rec me some "good" dubstep?
|
| |
Digital Mystikz
Clubroot
DFRNT
Burial
Pinch
Silkie
James Blake
Brokenchord
Zomby
Swarms
|
| |
Never mess with Deviant...........the chosen one.
|
| |
At least I gave it a shot.
My opinion still stands.. dubstep sucks.
|
| |
Not surprised looking at your ratings
I can tell you're not one for subtlety
|
| |
The thought of how this is going to sound pisses me off.
|
| |
Kornstep
|
| |
lol i'm almost embarrassed for these clowns. almost
|
| |
I used to think dubstep was awful as well. It's just one of those genres that's poorly represented by its popular artists. I really enjoyed Burial and James Blake a lot, so there definitely is some good dubstep out there and I look forward to continuing to look into it.
As for this album, it will most likely suck horribly. I probably won't even listen to it tbh.
|
| |
Will not be as good as Tombs - Path of Totality
|
| |
They should've just called it Kreamed.
|
| |
Skindred laid the foundations for Dub Metal with Union Black, notably with the track Cut Dem, but Korn are taking it into its purest form by collabing with known dubstep musicians. I'm not keen on Dub Metal but will keep an eye on it, have a feeling it's gonna be the next mainstream friendly metal.
|
| |
FO Double Post.
|
| |
i will say that not all dubstep is terrible. i've heard good tracks on various mix sets that I have.
i suppose it's almost like any genre that is poorly represented by its most popular acts, and not by its most credible acts...
|
| |
One of those bands I liked when I was fourteen. Now I honestly couldn't care less about them.
|
| |
not a fan of korn, butt it could be good
|
| |
they can tour and promote this with loutallica's lulu
|
| |
Stoked to hear the collaboration with NOISIA, noisia is good enough to make a Korn song actually
listenable. The other songs will blow
|
| |
Radio rock I can dig, awesome.
|
| |
"The Path To Totality"....well, it's not a great title, but at least it's better than "Korn III: Remember Who You Are".
|
| |
@bubbahotep92 I'm actually quite a big fan of metal, thank you very much. Dubstep has breakdowns, sir. Next time you're new to an online community, don't try so damn hard.
Sincerely,
A bro
|
| |
I don't see all the fuss over Korn's further bastardization of dubstep, it's actually rather entertaining that the genre is getting woven into metal, by Korn of all bands!
|
| |
Korn ran out of ideas years ago, Get Up was a breathe of fresh fucking air for these guys. I'm not ready to hate on this before it comes out, and it stands to be the most interesting record Korn's released in a while.
Fuck trolls, btw
|
| |
This'll be interesting. Most likely not good, but something i'm looking forward to hearing nonetheless.
|
| |
Looking forward to hear this.
|
| |
wtf? it won't work
|
| |
Lol come on Skrillex. As if 1 collab wasn't enough. 3?? Can't wait to hear people praise this like it's good though. My Facebook news feed was sickening after that first collab.
|
| |
KoRn.

woooow dude you are seriously butthurt
|
| |
hahahaha what a bunch of assholes
|
| |
question: will this be any better than their two/three previous releases?
|
| |
OH FUCK YES
|
| |
still cant believe these guys are doing the theme for the new silent hill game. but then again its not konami making it so of course the developers are going to try to make it appeal to a younger audience even though i havent even heard of these guys since their "come undone" song
|
| |
Noisia...
fucking stoked
|
| |
AOTY, I think.
|
| |
it's actually KoЯn mothafuckas! proper badass name
|
| |
Didn't Tombs already use that album title this year?
|
| |
can't believe this was my favorite band when i was in middle school.
strange how we grow up.
|
| |
KoRn's debut still rules.
This will weird at best.
|
| |
This is what happens when A band runs out of ideas

"I'm glad that they've combined two of the worst genres together. This will be a masterpiece."
Sigh...
|
| |
Will not be as good as Tombs - Path of Totality [2]
Tombs Path of Totality was not really that good but I doubt that Korn's new album will be half of what Tombs Path of Totality is. Tombs Winter Hours is better.
|
| |
this band needs to fucking die
x1,000,000
|
| |
I'd rather listen to Richard Simmons fuck a bronco
|
| |
Lol
|
| |
Curiosity will force me to listen to this
|
| |
gold cobra eat your heart out.
|
| |
Curiosity will force me to listen to this
m/
|
| |
Will surely be album of the decade
People just don't "get it"
|
| |
No no The Dev will not get it and then 90% of sputnik's population will bandwagon after him cause they see him as the god of dubstep
|
| |
Yeah I mean I'm absolutely going to listen to this unfortunately.
|
| |
dubstep and nu metal...? GENIUS !!!
|
| |
I'm not sure which is the worse album name. This or "The Age of Hell"
|
| |
The question is : are we going to listen to it as a dubstep or metal album?
I kinda feel sorry for Ray Luzier (drummer), will he still be necessary now that they're doing dubstep?
|
| |
WHY NOISIA WHY
|
| |
No no The Dev will not get it and then 90% of sputnik's population will bandwagon after him cause they see him as the god of dubstep
What the hell are you on about?
|
| |
lol dumb comment
|

Just gonna up my post count by typing artist names
|
| |
dubstep is the new nu-metal
|

|
| |
dubstep is the new nu-metal [2]
|
| |
I listened to "Get Up" on YouTube and it was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Not good, but not horrible either.
|
| |
lets not just say 'it sucks" because someone said "it sucked"...and dont be biased..i thought it was a pretty cool track...
|
| |
This will either be genius or a train wreck. Only time will tell.
|
| |
"i herd this band is bad, can anyone confirm"
Negative.
|
| |
I wish JD would just give it a rest already. Who cares about a washed out band and their dead genre!
|
| |
Well that would account for why they're now trying out something new.....
|
| |
Will be their best album
|
| |
inb4bloc5sit
|
| |
LOL damn you're sharp
|
| |
that would have sounded better if I'd said it before you'd commented..
|
| |
THE PATH

TOTALITY
brute.
|
| |
Nu-metal.....and dubstep??
|
| |
Korn can always find new ways to take a shit on the heavy metal genre.
Anything to dumb that shit down as much as possible.
That being said, track is better than some of that shit they're doing on Sumerian records or whatever.
|
| |
Get Up is hilarious
|
| |
I think the dubstep that has come over to the US, and certain producers-- who I can't even be bothered naming-- have definitely hit upon a sort of frat-boy market where there's this macho-ism being reflected in the sounds and the way the music makes you feel. And to me, that is a million miles away from where dubstep started. It's a million miles away from the ethos of it. It's been influenced so much by electro and rave, into who can make the dirtiest, filthiest bass sound, almost like a pissing competition, and that's not really necessary. -- James Blake
|
| |
On the other hand that makes him come off as an elitist prick...
|
| |
Not really, seeing as how it's true
|
| |
He's true about the how-it-started bit, but the ethos of dubstep is open to interpretation, I think.
I mean, I also agree with him as I'm not the biggest fan of brostep (cough), but coming from Blake, it could come off as he's being kind of bitter about the fact his kind of dubstep isn't as popular as the womp womp kind of stuff...
|
| |
I really fail to see how that comment could be intepreted as him being bitter about the fact that that style of dubstep is more poppular than the stuff he's putting out
but the ethos of dubstep is open to interpretation, I think.
Not at all. It started out as one thing and has now become something else. It was always inevitable but that doesn't mean anyone has to be happy about it
|
| |
Maybe I read too much between the lines...
Not at all. It started out as one thing and has now become something else. It was always inevitable but that doesn't mean anyone has to be happy about it
Change means open to interpretation, otherwise it wouldn't change at all
|
| |
I really fail to see how that ties into "the ethos of dubstep" but you're aware that there is such a thing as good change and bad change right?
|
| |
