the second half was really cool
| |
the clean vocal part was great. im liking this a lot more than most of tgm
| |
six and a half minute clip
lol btbam
| |
"Loading content" ....
| |
same here, content's been loading for 10 damn minutes. it's also giving me hella keyboard lag.
think i'll wait until it's on youtube.
| |
yea...I haven't been able to listen to it either.
| |
pretty sure its on youtube

wyankeif to the rescue
| |
wyankeif wins at life. I like it, the song is good.
| |
Very promising.
| |
Damn this is cool, I'm liking the intro
| |
Just a minute and a half in but really digging it. Sounds pretty reminiscent to their older material.
| |
Kicks ass.
| |
Can't wait for the new album, this shit is sooo good
| |
Holy fucking balls. So much recycled shit from swim to the moon it is unreal. Please listen to swim to the moon (closely) and then listen to this. ridiculously alike.
| |
But that being said it was sick and way better than most everything off TGM
| |
Not sure why everyone keeps calling this an album when they've made it pretty clear it's just gonna be an EP.
| |
but the two EPs together make an album, i think
| |
I noticed one part that sounded like the intro to Swim to the Moon, but nothing else.
Good song. Definitely looking forward to this.
| |
The section with the clean vocals was cool, but the heavier sections in this band's music have all started to blend together.
| |
Niiiiice
| |
lol at the people hoping for another Alaska.
The album is called "The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues," I think all hope for that is lost. XD
New song rules. BTBAM :D
| |
Juhn Juhn Juhn jumbled mess blah blah blah...cool clean part...jumbled mess, yadda yadda yadda.
I think they just play random notes really fast for the heavy parts.
| |
You should study music composition.
| |
@ Acre
Because their label says its a two part LP. That's why.
| |
I know they don't actually do that..it just sounds like that sometimes. I like the band, don't get me wrong...I just get really annoyed when some awesome melodic part is completely ruined by one of those ridiculous heavy passages.
But then again, different strokes for different folks.
| |
inb4 PalaceOfWisdom saying it sucks b/c it's not the first album
| |
the vocals sucked so i closed it
| |
That was fantastic. They just keep getting better.
| |
I know right? Why should a metal band be entitled to a writing heavy passages of music...
| |
yeah this is very promising, the clean sections rule. Gonna reserve my overall judgement till i hear the whole EP/LP/ 30 mins of music but im loving what ive heard.
| |
Ohhh my god I fucking love this.
I wonder how long the actual song is.
| |
Holy fucking balls. So much recycled shit from swim to the moon it is unreal. Please listen to swim to the moon (closely) and then listen to this. ridiculously alike.
I was thinking the exact same thing while listening.
Song is eh. Think I've outgrown this band.
| |
I'm starting to get tired of their heavier parts... But I love the part afterwards.
| |
I found this really boring, and not just the heavy parts. I love TSC, Alaska, Colors, and The Great Misdirect was also good. This just seems like a mess. The intro was interesting but it just seemed like the decision to have a part that sounds orchestral was made and then notes were thrown together into anything that might work
| |
Am I the only one who thought The Great Misdirect was a step forward for their sound, especially the heavier passages? It wasn't as un-listenable as Colors or Alaska's heavier parts.
This has me happy though. It sounds like they've finally managed to merge their quirkiness with the metal sections.
| |
"Am I the only one who thought The Great Misdirect was a step forward for their sound, especially the heavier passages?"
i agree, it was much more coherent.
new clip has me giddy. gonna love this.
| |
if you want to hear more self titled and alaska, then do it !
the older i get the more i accept that bands change, looking forward to this and seeing them play it live
| |
i like this a lot
| |
they don't disappoint
| |
I'm only half-way through. The heavier parts are much smarter and I'm thankful for the lack of nonsensical shredding.
| |
tommy sounds like cedric bixler in that clean part
| |
Nice! BTBAM rulz!
| |
i agree about the heavier parts kind of blending together but i think they're moving in the right direction now (at least in that aspect). there's also clearly a heavy influence from tommy's solo stuff, and i think they're getting better at blending the two.
also, it's cool that the wankery has been toned down but i hope there's still a little bit on the ep cuz it ain't btbam without some degree of wankery, and i'd argue that they are among the best at actually keeping the wanking interesting. wish tommy would bring back the harsh vocal range he had in the silent circus and alaska though. that'd be pretty dope.
| |
Six and a half minute clip = song will be atleast an hour
| |
For some reason I can't hear this clip. It just says loading content and it never loads. Anyone else having this problem? Is there another website that's hosting it?
| |
NVM. found it on youtube.
I like it quite a bit. I'm not sure why people who loved colors so much are calling TGM wankery. I think they did a nice job of containing all of the wankery into the last song.
| |
That link is fucking things up, I need to go to YouTube.
| |
heavy as
| |
It's pretty cool.
| |
riff at 1:07 is fucking great
| |
Nice. I expected to get a 1-2 min clip not a 6:45 clip lol thats hardly a clip... but then again it is BTBAM.
| |
All the TGM haters will love this album, even though it already sounds so much like TGM.
| |
Wow this is really damn good. Like I said before I'm a pretty big fan of BTBAM so I'm really looking forward to the new release.
| |
Dear Tommy, it isn't a sin to layer vocals..
That being said, the clean part at the end was nice.
| |
The comments on Youtube are hilarious. But the song "clip" is pretty awesome.
| |
Sounds good, but how much more is there to this song?
| |
some parts remind me of opeth
| |
Almost a seven minute clip. this song will probably be the entire ep.
| |
Song sounds alright, but it sounded too much like colors. I like colors, but I dont want another one.
Also, the album is 30 minutes and it has 3 songs in it, in case anyone didn't know.
| |
Im impressed
| |
woo beeteebamz
| |
What was the point of the intro? It literally sounded like they didn't even ATTEMPT to make a transition into the song with it. It was pretty much the definition of a gimmick... added just for the sake of being "progressive" without it contributing a single thing to the rest of the song. These guys are clearly talented musicians but man.... it's like songwriting 101. That really killed it for me, but the rest of the song didn't sound that bad. Especially towards the end. Definitely agree that their heavier parts all sound the same though. They really need to change up the rhythm once in awhile or something. I kinda feel like they should just move fully into progressive territory at this point. I find myself more or less waiting through the heavy sections in order to get to the stuff they actually do well. If they just spent the length of an album exploring their progressive side the results would probably be awesome.

Yous trollin
| |
BtBaM doing BtBaM, I enjoyed it.
| |
who would have thought
| |
woooah
| |
4:42 is sick
| |
I don't even care enough to listen to this sample.
| |
@Kubrick
Precisely my thoughts. Intro was dumb and unnecessary.
| |
That link had nothing to do with BtBaM.
| |
Link doesn't work. Fail.
| |
wow this clip (haha what?) is actually awesome. some of the best vocals I've ever heard in a BTBAM song
| |
LOUIS0NFIRE doesn't know how to search google/youtbue. Fail.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9BopptsemE
| |
i think the intro fits fine. considering what the album is about. i think it was made to be like that because of this sci-fi story.
| |
The intro will be fun live and you all know it
| |
I like it. Their stuff out of context is kind of hard to judge.
| |
I'm not nearly as into these guys as I used to be. The song sounds cool but I am getting tired of the super proggy approach. If I could hear some of the volatility and range of Alaska again I would be a happy camper.
| |
I feel like I've also outgrown them a bit, but this song is definitely more focused. I think heading towards the more melodic end of the spectrum is necessary at this point. I actually like the clean vocals a lot and the heavier chug stuff was a little easier to latch onto given the melodic flourishes. Intro was definite wank and eventual track length is sure to be unnecessary.
| |
Damn good shit, except the intro, and even that is adequate.
| |
