Both of your comments are just dumb. First off, although they act stupid in studio updates, a lot of them do actually contain, even in the slightest bit, some new material. Underoath and other bands have no music. But people still skeet all over everything they put out.

And as for your other comment... isn't that true for every band and every album? Either they put out something new, they remain the same, or they go to shit?

Not as good as 3D but still quite enjoyable. The heavy parts are unbeatable, but the clean vocals can take some time getting used to.

Promise u all, the "Best of" is just to fulfill contractual obligations. Typically, a band signs with a label for a certain number of albums, and often the label has an option album that they can decide to pick up or not. A "Best of" is often used as the last album when the band is ready to move on before the label is. No, I don't know this for fact, but it's happened a LOT in the past, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was happening right here.

Oh, and to respond to an earlier post by Deviant... TECHNICALLY an album is 40 minutes long. An EP is considered 20-39 minutes. (From "Everything You Need to Know About the Music Industry" by Passman... Also confirmed by my friend Matt Ellard... He's the one who mixed "Alaska" and "The Silent Circus". I think he produced one too... I don't remember he told me that forever ago and I don't feel like looking it up). And I say technically only. I can think of a number of albums (Answer That and Stay Fashionable by AFI for instance) that are albums and are short of 40 minutes. But if you want to get super technical and define it by the legal terms, an "album" has to be at least 40 minutes to fulfill contractual obligations by the band. Often times, the band can suppliment an album with 2 EPs and the label usually accepts that. Just the technicalities behind it in case anyone was interested.

after listening to that 6 and half min clip i can tell you that this is a bit of a departure from colors and TGM (for those who feel they are exactly the same album).

song sounds pretty good. surprised and thoroughly impressed that they toned down the wankery, as much as i liked it. they've always been an album band though, so i wonder how this will sound in the context of the entire ep. sounds solid for now though.
