Really upbeat, then the chorus hits. This reminds me of previous albums a lot. I've been away from them too long, they've grown.
|
| |
FUCK YEH AMURICA
|
| |
pretty good.
|
| |
Hate their politics, love their music.
|
| |
What is it with the 'setting the world on fire' lyric though? First Against Me!, then The King Blues' new single now this...
Still, promising for the rest of the album.
|
| |
now Architects should release a song called "Rise Against".
|
| |
^ true that
|
| |
I don't care about this band anymore. I feel like they'd need a dramatic change for me to like them again.
|
| |
Pretty good. I've always liked Rise Against, but they've never really been at the top of my list, so to speak.
|
| |
nice, the album might not be so bad
|
| |
this is good...nice blend of old and new Rise Against
|
| |
doubt they'll ever reach the caliber of the sufferer and the witness again, but if this album is better than appeal to reason i'll be interested in them again. hard to tell from the tracks they've been putting up though
|
| |
Sufferer and the Witness was crap compared to Revolutions and Siren Song
|
| |
i haven't wanted to listen to this band for the longest time
|
| |
sounds Appeal To Reasonish real shame
|
| |
Will check it out when I have a chance.
|
| |
Decent
|
| |
reminded me of TSatW/Siren Song more than the other track, but still not nearly as good
|
| |
that was shitty but not as shitty as their other shitty new song
the background "whoa's" in this are hilaribad
|
| |
decent
if the rest of the album sounds like this i'd be content
|
| |
album is gonna be like 85% platitudes
|
| |
never been a fan of these shitheads
|
| |
why are you guys such debbie downers
|
| |
they have a few excellent albums and they fucking kill it live
|
| |
not so much tyler i guess but still
negative nancys
|
| |
it's a michigan thing, kris
you wouldn't understand
|
| |
yeah I own sufferer but I never want to listen to it. I always pop it in the player and go "damn this is underwhelming".
|
| |
in kansas everyone is so cheery and happy and lol just kidding everyones miserable as fuck
|
| |
everyone in michigan is a dick/bitch
|
| |
yeah jayhawks hoops fans are probably committing suicide en masse right now amirite
|
| |
most of the people here are rednecks
finding culture is like finding a needle in a haystack
unless i wanna drive to lawrence
but everyone there has their heads up their asses and they're ultrahipsters
...........lets not talk about jayhawks...
|
| |
fuck you guest i'm a good person you cuntrag
|
| |
I've cum to accept we're all somewhat cunty
|
| |
Hmmm not really amazing. Will still buy the album but I'm guessing Sufferer will be their last 5 star achievment...
|
| |
All was good until the chorus... =( I'm underwhelmed.
|
| |
Someone should break his heart again so he goes back to writing about that instead of...whatever political shenanigans this is.
|
| |
WOAAAAAAAAAAAH OHHHHHHHHH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OHHH
WOAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OHHHHHH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OHHH
|
| |
After listening to it again I think the album will definitely be Appeal to Reason Pt II, hopefully it'll have a better ratio of really good:average though.
Also, for some reason listening to the track on their website rather than myspace sounds so much better. I think the woaahs are a bit lower in the mix and it just generally sounds bigger.
|
| |
Oooh, Timmy dropped the F-bomb.
I liked it, but I must admit that line being so similar to Against Me's song was rather disconcerting.
|
| |
sounds an awful lot like Appeal to Reason, but its not terrible. I'll check the album out.
I miss songs like Halfway There... and Tip The Scales
|
| |
I took it as a tribute to Against Me! Kinda like how Paramore used Refused's line in one of there songs
|
| |
Not bad, still not as good as their old stuff.
|
| |
Enjoyed this
|
| |
ugh band pisses me off lately. loved them until Appeal to Reason. fucking Zach Blair killed this band.
|
| |
^ yeah, sufferer was their last good outing, been sad to be a Rise Against fan with their recent releases...
|
| |
lol andcas
|
| |
hmmmm....This sounds pretty good so far. I like those Bass chords, I don't like that "breakdown".
Here's hoping that the new album is better then Appeal to Reason. That album sucked a big one (except for savior which was awesome).
|
| |

|
| |
sounds like older Rise Against. I like it.
|
| |
After listening again the line is actually...
"Don't yell 'Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?' Well I am, and I still do."
...maybe a pop at Tom Gabel & Against Me!?
|
| |
Hmmm, interesting.
|
| |
Dunno. Brandon's a solid boy.
|
| |
Tom Gabel got arrested for smashing some guys head into a table (or something like that) after he dissed AM!, and I can't see Rise Against being the violent types. Plus they say being vegan reduces aggression, so maybe it'd be resolved peacefully...
|
| |
I definitely like it better than their first single. It's not bad.
|
| |
as much as i love this band, i really wish they would downplay the whole Political thing a little bit, but hey, that's me talking.
other than that, love this band, it's nice too see they're trying to get back to their roots (come on, they're trying!) and i'm hoping that this album lives up to the expectations, unlike MCR's last 15 song let down.
|
| |
incredibly boring song, what a disappointment.
|
| |
Chorus was good but the song was really boring as a whole. Especially the bridge.
|
| |
dammit guys savior wasn't even good.
|
| |
i really got into their Revolutions Per Minute .. where-as, w/ their later releases, i just like a couple songs from each.. they're not my favorite band, but their good enough . .other than that, i could care less about these guys. . . lol
|
| |
RPM rocks
Siren Song rocks
Sufferer rocks
and then, we got appeal to reason...
|
| |
audience of one was the only song on that album that i really liked.
|
| |
It's not that it's bad, it's just that the other albums were so much better
|
| |
well it really was bad.
Rise against moved from punk, to radio rock. they stopped playing their energetic, fun, fast-paced music, and moved to slow, cheesy, radio-friendly crap.
|
| |
yep. and they didnt swear once on appeal to reason, other than the word "damn" on hero of war. i know that probably shouldnt matter, but it just seemed like they were trying to go radio friendly.
|
| |
true, but it still sounded like a watered down version of their older stuff. i dont hate it though, ive got it at a 3.
|
| |
Well Rise Against is my favourite band but I was also kind of disappointed by their last album
except Savior, and Re-Education, but Savior was above all the other songs on that album.
The new stuff their preparing for us is kinda' like their last album, unfortunately...
I miss Tim's shouts, from the past songs like Give it All or Blood to Bleed.
That's what I like about them. This great blend between fast-paced melodic punk rock and great
social-political lyrics.
Their songs used to be full of energy, inspiring and motivating.
Every song had a social-political message, about the real problems that we struggle with day by day,
it. I could connect with their songs, but now I don't feel anything, it's like any other pop-punk
band, just noise no feeling...
I don't feel that passion, that energy that anger that need to protest anymore.
And yea they are or at least were the kind of band that could change the world with the power of
their music, not like (la-la-la-fuck Bush la-la-la), but now is like they gave up the fight.
Anyway I still listen to their first 4 albums daily, no matter what they are playing now.
I'll always remember them by their older stuff.
They'll always be my favourite band along side Sick of it all, Ignite and H2O. Peace
|
| |
I hate it but it's at 2.5 because it isn't actually terrible, it's just the band that used to be my favorite band's worst album.
|
| |
I don't see what the issue with the lyrics is, Help is On the Way was about the suffering of New Orleans- how could they be more socially aware? Plus Architects directly calls out Tom Gabel and Against Me!, are you saying thats not ballsy?
|
| |
Kinda bummed that I have to wait until I get home to listen to this album
|
| |
hey guys
its gooooood
|
| |
yessssssssssss
|
| |
after only listening to the first half of the album so far i'm getting overwhelmingly positive feelings
|
| |
Which album does it sound like the most?
|
| |
I can't say. only heard sufferer and appeal to reason from their discog before this. digging it much more than appeal to reason though
|
| |
it has the appeal to reason alt rock sound, but the songs are way more consistent, a little faster overall too. I think i like every track.
|
| |
so uptempo and awesome
|
| |
This isn't giving up, no -- this is letting go!
|
| |
song is good
|
| |
if davey doesnt 5 this
|
| |
song is good but I let the stream run and you get some bloody awful stuff.
|
| |
album is so effing good!
|
| |
I've just listend to this new album, and I'm dissapointed, I think it's worse then Appeal to Reason, they are much more towards alternative rock, then punk rock, or melodic punk/hardcore.
I'm not saying it's a bad album, but I just don't like their new sound, their new songs. Their new songs are longer, slower and just lack that RA energy, power, anger, like the old songs usde to be.
RA used to be that perfect blend between fast paced, aggressive, punk songs, and melodic songs with strong lyrics.
But it seems they've changed their style completely, and it's no turning back, or at least not in the near future.
But nevertheless I can still listen to the their first 4 albums which are still amazing, even after 5 years of listening to them.
|
| |
Sorry Adam, I won't be 5'ing it.
|
| |
good Davey. good good good good good good.
|
| |
You're not a f**king true fan then are you, you f**king part-timer? Yeah, f**king Rise Against's real fans would f**king love anything they released, you absolute f**king sell-out.
|
| |
fanking?
|
| |
