Metallica Reveal DVD Details

2006-10-14 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 13 Comments
Metallica are to release a DVD containing all of their music videos in December.

The Videos 1989-2004 will be released on December 4 internationally and a day later in the US, and will include every one of the band's promotional clips made since 1989's MTV breakthrough 'One,' from the ...And Justice For All album. Also included will be exclusive extras, such as the never-before-aired in the US 'Mama Said' and the eleven-minute theatrical version of 'The Unforgiven.'

"We've been getting requests for many years to release all the promotional videos on DVD and it's finally happening! In addition to every video we've ever made, for the first time ever, the '2 of One' release (which up until now has only been available on VHS) will be available on DVD. Also included is 'Mama Said', which never aired in North America, maybe not even anywhere in the world, and a few little extras such as 'The Unforgiven' theatrical version and the 'Some Kind Of Monster' film trailer. Plus, all the audio has been re-mixed in 5.1 surround sound.

"Look for the DVD at your favorite music store on December 4 in most of the world, December 5 in North America. Keep an eye on the Metallica.com store for more details on how you can pre-order your copy...coming soon!"

The entire content listing is as follows:

I probably won't get this. You watch it once and then what?
If they had clips for their older material though...

I'm really, really tired of bands releasing DVD's. I could look up virtually all of their music videos and live shows on youtube. Instead of killing time and boosting sales by putting out something that I could get for free any time, they should move on and just put out new material. If they had included worthwhile things it would be different, but a DVD full of music videos is not really worth it.

Too much post-black album stuff kills the enjoyment anyway.
