Well no shit guys it isn't going to sound exactly like Discovery era Daft Punk. They're making a soundtrack to a movie, so the music has to fit. Could you honestly see something like One More Time fitting in this movie?

Yes.

Terrible? No. Boring? Yes. A lot of the songs are huge build-ups that never go anywhere but to the next song that is also simply a build-up that will inevitably lead to a let-down.

I disagree. While Discovery is certainly the best thing they've done, I think Human After All and this are both great in their own right. Just because they don't top what is considered to be one of the best albums in years doesn't mean they're not good anymore. It just means your expectations have been raised to unreasonable heights.
