Trivium 'The Crusade' Stream

2006-10-05 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 11 Comments
NME.com is offering Trivium's new album The Crusade for streaming.

'Anthem (We Are The Fire)' is the first single to be taken from the album, and the video for the track has been posted for viewing at Roadrunner Records' official website. Two tracks from the new album are available for streaming at Sputnikmusic, including the new single.

The Crusade is the Orlando, Florida, four-piece's third album, the follow up to last year's smash hit Ascendancy.

Man, I don't like Trivium's videos at all. They're just...bad.

I've got my review of The Crusade ready though, yay. This Message Edited On 10.05.06

Thanks, I really hope mine doesn't some off as mindless flaming. It may not seem like it, but they have some stuff here and there that I like. The new album just didn't go in the direction I favored.

We'll see how things turn out. Viking seems to be into a different spectrum of metal compared to me, so I rarely ever see reviews of his and don't really know much about his writing. It sounds like he's putting quite a bit of effort into this one, at least. The release is less then a week away so I'm expecting a flood of Crusade reviews greater than the influx of The Scattering of Ashes.

What killed The Crusade is that everything sounds the same. Individually the songs aren't that bad, but it just gets tedious to listen to after awhile.

I like Viking's reviews. Especially that Arch Enemy one. This Message Edited On 10.05.06

That's definitely true. I was also incredibly annoyed by the band's egotistical view of their music. Matt Heafy has said in interviews that he wants Trivium to "conquer the world" and that if people don't like his new singing they can go listen to the "dime a dozen bands that are all doing the same thing". I'm also tired of how the band claims the new stuff is technical thrash metal when it is neither thrash metal at all nor particularly technical.

I'll stick with Arsis. Thank god America still has metal bands that would rather make good music than just say they do. If I seem like I'm really annoyed by Trivium, then I'm sorry, I am. They made such a fuss over their new material and when the actual stuff was nothing like they described I couldn't believe they had stooped so low yet continue to get more and more credit for it.This Message Edited On 10.05.06

i agree the video is pretty gay. but the album is superb. the guitar work is amazing and surprisingly, this guy can actually sing. his voice is 2 times better than hetfields was...EVER. travis (drummer) does a great job on this cd along with the bassist who has improved quite a bit since their last release. i just love the crusade. i cant wait to read the reviews..

Okay, my rage has subsided now.

/was hungry

A couple of the songs have some good riffs, but Ascendancy was much better.

You don't think this sounds like Metallica? You're the first person I've ever heard/seen say that.

Every song I've heard from their new album sounds TOO MUCH like metallica.
