You won't like me when I'm.......disgusted...

I expected this to be about JOHN Ashcroft. Suffice it to say I am disappoint.

maracas and tambourines are stupid. i think the fact he had to play those is the REAL reason he stormed off
|
| |
i guess he managed to hold onto his castanets and his kazoo
|
| |
From what I've read in the past the guy's always sounded like a bit of a prima donna. Still though, to see a fully grown man throw down his maraca's in the midst of a tantrum would've almost been worth the price of admission alone
|
| |
Mostly for the pathetic sound they would make when they hit the stage...
|
| |
Metal needs more maracas.

He threw down his maracas! Holy expression of anger batman! That makes smashing a guitar look like pettin' a kitty.
|

"Ashcroft threw his maracas and tambourine down in disgust, before leaving the stage and not returning."
Lawlll
|
| |
Like a child throwing his toys out of the pram...
|
| |
I guess his symphony was BITTERSWEET
EH? EH?!
|
| |
Ok, enough with the bittersweet symphony puns... because the drugs don't work.
|
| |
I don't know who this dude is, but he sounds like a douche.
|
| |
JD, if you recall the English band The Verve, who had a worldwide hit with 'Bittersweet Symphony' (trust me, you've heard it); this guy is their lead singer.
|
| |
this reminds me i was gonna review his new album
|
| |
I thought The Verve reunited a few years back. I guess they broke up again.
|
| |
Yeah they reunited released an album did some festivals then crumbled again.
|
| |
Gee, I wonder why... It must have been the extensive maracas use.
|
| |
lol Ashcroft still thinks he's relevant
|
| |
i guess he managed to hold onto his castanets and his kazoo
Ahaahahahaha.
|
| |
this wouldn't have happened if he'd been playing the triangle
|
| |
I would have taken my maracas and my tambourine home with me. Fuck those guys!
|
| |
yeah i've paid a pretty penny for some maracas in my day -- nothing to shake a stick at!
|
| |
Tosser!
|
| |
I think I'm the only person here who actually listens to The Verve on a regular basis
|
| |
guy needs to strap on a pair and stop throwing douchegasms.

This is the official statement that has followed after this fiasco (how's his manager's name):
Fans of Richard Ashcroft were disappointed not to see the set at Splendour last night but allegations of Richard storming off stage due to crowd size are unfounded. Richard performed three gigs and undertook two days of heavy promotional duties and last night his voice simply gave out.
Jazz Summers, Richard Ashcroft’s manager said this morning,“After 3 gigs in 2 days, including a 2 hour show in Sydney on Saturday night, we knew Richard would have to look after his voice for the Splendour in the Grass set so we cancelled all promotional activity for Sunday. It wasn’t until he got on stage on Sunday night at Splendour that he realized his voice wouldn’t make it through the set.
I was watching the show from the sound desk and was surprised when he appeared to missing the high notes on his opening track ‘Are You Ready’. I could sense his total frustration at the situation.
Immediately following the show, Richard sought advice from a doctor and was ordered not to speak or sing for 72 hours.Today he is consulting a specialist in QLD. ”
Richard Ashcroft has been in the country promoting his latest album, RPA & The United Nations of Sound which was released July 16. Headlining shows at The Palace, Melbourne, and Enmore Theater, Sydney, were well received by critics and fans alike.
