sorta demonstrates everything i've been saying since FOB released IoH, which is that they're (were?) not much of a pop-punk band, and way more of a soul-pop band...js

how much weight did this guy loose???
|
| |
this is awesome
yeah, the further they moved away from punk and more towards straight pop, the better they got. used his vocal talent a lot more (not to mention how much he improved album to album)
|
| |
looks like he dropped 50 pounds.
|
| |
For a sec I thought he was Kevin Bacon/Tim Robbins lol
|
| |
I need Die Antwoord to cover this
|
| |
Fuck, its actually really awesome. And he looks so different (in a good way)
|
| |
The more emphasis they put on Stump's vocals the less i liked FOB
|
| |
how can stump sound so much better in this and yet sound horrible in FOB?
if he sang like this in more of their songs i would actually enjoy them
|
| |
did you listen to folie a deux? or at least What a Catch, Donnie?
|
| |
Nice. It looks like this guy is finding his comfort zone; and plus, he's with the Roots, so cool points +++
|
| |
@verypleasant
noppee, i basically only heard whatever songs they put on the radio, and maybe a few that some chicks were forcing on me in the car, I never had enough interest in them to make the step to checking out any thing else.

do yourself a favor and listen to the album. i had some vague notions of them being awful beforehand, but once i gave them a chance, it's a pretty good album. great vocals like this.

"The more emphasis they put on Stump's vocals the less i liked FOB"
I agree on that. Since "Infinity on High", I think Patrick Stump has taken too much space in Fall Out Boy. And even more on "Folie a Deux". So that's when I started hating him and making fun of the band. Even though "From Under a Cork Tree" is one of my all-time's best albums.

| |
I spy a bald spot.
|
| |
Looks like Kevin Bacon now
|
| |
lol I said the same thing.
|
| |
Wow this is surprisingly really good. He looks and sounds great. Good for him.
|
| |
The guy definitely has a good voice.
|
| |
This is fantastic.
|
| |
Am I missing something? All I heard was Stump losing control of his voice and occasionally grunting and a bunch of backup singers completely overpowering him throughout the entire song. I know he can sing but this was hardly much of a showcase for that.
And with that bald spot and weight loss (see: my screen name) he's starting to look like a young Elton John. Especially when he put on those sunglasses.
