Ouch, that sucks for their fans in the UK that have tickets; I'm glad I saw them on Saturday, at that date in Calgary.
Looking forward to the new album though, that's for sure. This Message Edited On 09.12.06

This is the second tour they've cancelled in the space of a year and a half.
Nice to know that they care about their fans, especially after taking our money for the (more expensive this time) tickets.

I really don't think you should cancell/duck off a tour (Especially if you're headlining sold out shows) for the sake of a new record. It really pisses off fans and seeing as, without the fans, no one would know/give a fuck about a new record.
I am stoked for the new album tho, I just have a different view on priorities. But I'm also not a rockstar.

thats kinda dumb of them.

Man how bummed would you be if you had tickets to a sold out show and they cancelled? Than they say oh well next time we are back we'll have a new album. What happens if you loved CoE, they might not play your favorite song off that once another record is out since they will probably be playing their new stuff. (if you see what I'm getting at) That is really a crappy excuse, you can write and record on a bus.

That's a pretty poor reason for cancelling a tour. This is the first I've ever heard of a band cancelling because they didn't want their creative minds disturbed.

I agree, it is a very poor reason for cancelling.
I was at the Calgary show -- does anyone know what this "other song" was?
Stuff that they played that weren't on WTF and CoE were 'To End the Rapture', Synyster's solo, and the 'Walk' cover.

Even I think this is kinda dumb. I'm glad because it means that I get new A7X in 6 months, not 2 years, but it kinda sucks for the UK fans. But I'd think they'd atleast get a refund.

I don't know what the new song was or when it was played. To be honest, I forgot they even played it for a while after the show; but I do remember them playing somthing I never heard previously.

I'm not a fan of them, but thats pretty annoying to their fans. Oh no, you have to wait until mid 2008 instead of late 2007.
|
| |
Well, I can assure you that I've heard every song that they performed. Unless they played something after 'Bat Country'.
|
| |
Actually it'd either be Feb. 2007, or July 2008, it's a pretty big difference. But I still think they shouldn't have scheduled the shows if they werent gonna play.

ahhh fuck i live in the uk and i had tickets

DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!

They didn't play any new songs while on tour, the earliest you are going to hear a new song will be in July with the release of the upcoming DVD or in August, 2 months before the release of the new album which is a standard release time for a first single. The song(s) you probably thought were new was their cover of Walk (originally a Pantera song) or To End The Rapture for those who haven't listened to Sounding The Seventh Trumpet.
For the rest of you resenting the cancelled European dates, that was a necessary step for the band considering their drummer had to go to rehab. They were in no shape to continue touring.
