New Switchfoot album and tour 2006-09-08 by mx STAFF | 9 Comments | It was just last year that San Diego rockers Switchfoot released Nothing Is Sound, which has gone on to sell more than 352,000 copies, and fans won't have to wait much longer for more -- reports MTV.com.
The band's sixth studio outing, Oh! Gravity, will be released December 26.
Switchfoot enlisted knob-turner Tim Palmer (U2, James) to co-produce the effort, with Steve Lillywhite (Iggy Pop, Talking Heads) sitting in the executive producer's chair. Lillywhite also helmed the track "Awakening." In all, the album will boast 13 cuts, including "American Dream," "In This Life," "Amateur Lovers," "Circles," "Faust," "Yesterdays," "4:12," "Burn Out Bright" and "Let Your Love." The title track will be the first single from the disc.
On September 19, Switchfoot will release a fresh digital track, "Dirty Second Hands."
Also, Switchfoot plan to hit the road October 17 in Bakersfield, California, for a 29-date tour of intimate venues that will wrap November 22 in Las Vegas.

I really like Switchfoot. "Stars" was a good single and it's a shame that the album didn't sell as well as "The Beautiful Letdown". Wonderful news.
| | | I gave these guys a shot, and for a while I liked them, but after a while they just get, well, boring.
Good for them with the consistancy though.
| | | out of all the Cities in the US, nobody decides to stop in Salt Lake City, these guys are good, and i like what they do to keep it up
| | | Awesome. Maybe the record will work on itunes this time and i can put it on my ipod to listen to.
| | | The last record wouldn't download to my mp3 player either but I was told if you make a burned copy of the cd and then rip the burn copy back to your computer you'll be able to do it
| | | lol, I remebered my friend buying one of their albums because she heard one good song and then felt stupid cause the whole album was a piece of crap.
| | | I dig Switchfoot most of the time, but this album title is so terrible, I don't know if I can expect anything good just based on that.
| | | They're an OK band, but a good deal of their songs can get repetitive. Kudos to them on the 350k+.
| | | rejoice! all switchfoot fans! hehehe.. this is a wonderful news... especially for me! i'm a fan of switchfoot and i really like their single "stars".... and by the way this news is interesting!
