Paris' music makes her cry 2006-08-21 by mx STAFF | 11 Comments | NEW YORK (AP) -- Paris Hilton is no stranger to self-promotion. But when she asked DJs to play songs from her upcoming debut album, "Paris," last spring, she wasn't so confident.
"People go crazy," the 25-year-old socialite/reality TV star/singer says in an interview in the September issue of Blender magazine, on newsstands Tuesday. "They love it. Everyone's like, 'Who is this?' I don't tell. Because I don't want someone putting their phone up and recording it and making a ring tone off of it.
"I think when people don't know it's me, they won't judge it. But if they know it's me, then they'll be like, 'Ugh.' They won't even dance."
"Paris" the album was set for release Tuesday. Hilton's breathy, reggae-infused single, "Stars Are Blind," has climbed to the top of Billboard's dance music chart.
Hilton posed for Blender's cover and inside pages wearing lingerie; in one photo, she wears a pink bra, black fishnet stockings and gold platform heels.
Of her album, she says, "I, like, cry, when I listen to it, it's so good."
Hilton says the baby voice she uses on the reality TV show "The Simple Life" is an act.
"I'm always playing a character," she says. "I don't talk like this really -- like a baby. I don't act like myself in public, because I don't really want to show everyone the real me. Because I have no privacy whatsoever, the only thing I have is who I really am."

Negative comments, sarcastic comments, comments responding to either of the first two will be deleted on the news section of sputnikmusic as per order of MX. If you would like to say whatever you want about a certain artist on this site then you can do so, within reason, on the reviews of said artist (yes, there is a review of Paris here).
If you would like to insist on being (one of a million words I could say here) then here is solid proof that you can't post the way every single post here was: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=484281
| | | From what I have heard of it it actualy seems pretyt good but I haven't checked it out yet.
| | | Looks to me like a pretty obvious bid for more attention. Miss Hilton may not be the sharpest tack in the drawer, but she certainly seems to understand one thing: the power of mass media.
No doubt, this is not the last we'll be hearing of her debut album and her various and sundry feelings about it in the near future. In typical diva fashion, she's going to lay it on thick until we're all sick to death of hearing about it, at which point she'll shift tactics.
Not that it matters really as I still have no desire to buy the album.

pfft.... give me a break
| | | This woman just seriously irks me. A person famous for doing nothing and getting a seriously lucrative record deal where all she has to do is breathe someone elses lyrics (she does that throughout the album apparently to hide her complete lack of talent) to some reggae inspired rhythm (which was DJ'ed by an equally talentless goon who get's hideously gross amounts of cash stuffed down the front of his pants by the label executives) which the Herald Sun describes as "so hot right now!".
Just tell me one of the tracks was written by Max Martin and I think I'll do myself in.
| | | in case no one else noticed, the backing music of "stars are blind" (i.e. all of it apart from the vocals) is UB40's "kingston town."
she has destroyed a previously excellent song.
| | | i have to laugh at one of her quotes

Am i the only one who finds that a rather strange statement to make?
but in all honesty i think this shows a slight element of reverse psychology; and if it is that, than she's certaintly smarter than she looks
| | | i don't see what the big deal about her is all she
| | | Reading that article just burns herself, i hate actors who want to sing... its a waste, pick one.

| | | edit:
After reading the first post I'll change my post.
I think she's being a little to over the top about how good her album is. She is right about judging the music when you know it's her though.
The music still gets to me. It's so auto-tuned :mad:This Message Edited On 08.31.06
