Solid list I'd say.
|
| |
very surprised. Quite a good list.
|
| |
Pretty good i'd say
|
| |
Not bad at all
|
| |
lol Slipknot.
|
| |
Pig Destroyer heck yeahhhhh
No btbam = fail though
|
| |
pretty decent list...Good to see Pig Destroyer on it. Woulda liked some mention of Toby Driver though
|
| |
Slipknot? no
|
| |
Lamb of God and Slipknot gfto. ++Agalloch
|
| |
Would have liked to see BtBAM but oh well. Kinda surprised to see Behemoth and Amon Amarth, but I'm not complaining.
|
| |
Slipknot needs to GTFO out of music period.
Mastodon doesn't make sense here, they're just boring.
Lamb of God is alright, but they don't deserve a spot here.
Otherwise, a solid list.
|
| |
Solid list, interesting
|
| |
If they take out Slipknot the list would be perfect.
|
| |
I'd replace Slipknot with BTBAM and we have a sweet list
|
| |
Id say System Of A Down in, Slipknot out
then if we get Opeth and Converge to do the ol' switcheroo, then replace Opeth with BBTAM the list starts to look much better
|
| |
Pig Destroyer should be replacing 3.
Then Agoraphobic Nosebleed should be 4.
Then Isis is 5
And The Locust is 6.
Then we have a good list
|
| |
Maybe if this was "Top Grind and Post-Metal of 00's" then you could do that.
|
| |
Maybe if you'd just shut da fug up then I could do whatever I wanted without my dreams being crushed, huh?
|
| |
I think this is an excellent list. It covers the almost the entire spectrum of metal and represents them with a single band that has done something special for the genre.
Even if you hate Slipknot, you can't deny that they are one of the best bands in nu-metal.
|
| |
As long as nu-metal (a terrible genre overall), Korn is probably the best, RATM starting the foundations if not already being a part of it.
Slipknot sucks.
|
| |
WEIRD OPETH #1
|
| |
Yeah but Korn hasn't put out a good album since the 90's and RATM hasn't put out an album since the 90's period.
|
| |
Neither has Slipknot.
And so if we're doing Metal subgenres in the list to keep it varied, are you saying that Nu-Metal > Post-Metal or any other possible subgenre for that matter?
|
| |
Sure they have, all of their albums fall under the 10 year period, and all of them have above a 3.0 average score out of thousands of ratings on this site alone. I think mainstream success should count for something too, it's pretty impressive for a band like that to rise up from nothing.
And I said "almost" covers the entire spectrum of metal. Even so, I would still consider post-metal outside the realm of standard metal subgenres (hence the "post" tag in the name.)
|
| |
Pretty weird list. I'm a huge Lamb of God fan but I definitley know they shouldn't be in the top 10. Amon Amarth? They're ok but definitley not top 10 material, also overrated. Mastodon? Incredibly overated, Slipknot? nofranx. Converge is debatable but I don't like em at all, then again I don't like metalcore at all either.
|
| |
9,8,5,4 don't deserve it at all.
Need some Sunn O))).
|
| |
Meh.
In terms of the metal spectrum, nu-metal is about as metal as post-metal.
But better.
|
| |
SlipNOT where is BTBAM I'm so original with my bad band put downs.
And PirateSquid stfu
|
| |
Pig Destroyer heck yeahhhhh
No btbam = fail though
no btbam=the magazine knows something about metal
|
| |
"As much as I'd hate to admit it, Slipknot did sorta bring "heavier" music into mainstream."
Nah bro that was Guitar Hero.
|
| |
Rad list minus Slipknot.
|
| |
great list - log
|
| |
Every band on that list deserves to be there. Except Tool. Their best work was the 90's, as was most of their influence
|
| |
I hate Opeth
would be better if dragonforce was there ;)
|
| |
Converge should be , at least, first!
|
| |
Every band on that list deserves to be there. Except Tool. Their best work was the 90's, as was most of their influence
Wrong. Lateralus, hello?
|
| |
Lateralus is their third best album
|
| |
Hey look Dolving is trying to suck up to sputnik!
But really, List - Slipknot=Win
|
| |
You may not like Slipknot, but their influence cannot be denied.
|
| |
influence =/= good music
|
| |
Thanks for pointing out the obvious jackass. Also, I was unaware that your shitty opinion in music was fact. The reason they are a top act of the 2000's is because they helped bring heavier music into the mainstream.
|
| |
If that was the criteria I could list off quite a few other bands that did the same.
|
| |
like
|
| |
good to see some publications make a list for the entire decade...slipknot used to be great and even greater live.
|
| |
Slipknot's later albums are still pretty damn good, people just latch on to their shitty fans and make judgements
|
| |
I'd replace Slipknot with BTBAM and we have a sweet list
THis.
|
| |
"all hope is gone" is garbage imo
Nothing comes close to Iowa or S/T
|
| |
I am sorry but Sulfur is fantastic
|
| |
1 ok song does not a good album make, my friend.
|
| |
At least half the songs on the album are decent, which means it is good in my opinion, friend
|
| |
Wait dude "I was unaware that your shitty opinion in music was fact"
|
| |
im surprised meshuggah were ignored. as far as im aware they've released more good records than slipknot have even realeased (though to be fair slipknot are slowly improving)
|
| |
Slipknot rightly deserves a place here just because they by far had the biggest impact on the metal scene for mainstream music. I and many others owe them a lot for getting my musical tases to where they are now.
|
| |
Lateralus is by far my favorite Tool record followed by Ænema.
|
| |
Hahahaha Meshuggah good joke dude.
|
| |
