i think Alesana is one of the most talented of the more popular "emo-style" post-hardcore bands. they have a good sense of song structure, and WMFtL was very addicting, thought it was better than FWoVaW. this might be good...

Alesana's live performance is abysmal. Just noise and feminine secretions. I forgot who they played with that I was there to see, but I probably don't even like that band anymore. Oh, and 3 guitars only works if your band name is Iron Maiden.

I can't wait till people see past what bands look like and just listen to their music...but I can see where the vocals can get annoying at times. Frail Wings was pretty damn good regardless.

It's not just the image that makes it fashioncore, the music follows a huge trend also.

What exactly is the trend? Because there's actually some differentiation here from the majority of post hardcore bands these days.

I mean. Lets face it. Theres much tighter Post-Hardcore/Metalcore bands out there AND they look better too.

The trend is the horrible melodic metalcore/screamo scene. Look at Alesana, Chiodos,Bless the Fall and Drop Dead Gorgeous. They could all be the same fucking band and I'm sure there are alot more that follow those more SUCKsessful myspace celebrity/fashioncore bands.

Indomitable - Yea, I know. I listen to them too. But not liking this because of their looks is retarted. And honestly, their first lp and their ep are solid. I'm pretty convinced that Bleekill either didn't listen to them or listened to them once, then turned them off when the guy started singing.

BleeKill - Who even gives a shit about any of those bands anymore? And BlesstheFall sounds nothing like Alesana, especially on the new album. Haven't listened to Chiodos or Drop Dead Gorgeous enough to comment on that. Honestly, while there is a whole appearance thing going on in the scene, the whole band all in black ties and shit has kinda stopped. I mean, there is a look there, but it's not the all defining one. And the genre you're looking for here is post hardcore.

I call screamo what the scene kids call screamo, which is a bastard of metalcore/posthardcore. But to me post-hardcore bands can be legit and the "screamo" bands suck. I realize there are legit screamo bands like Pg. 99 and Orchid but to your average listener, screamo is Underoath.
