Progressive-metal act Nevermore have put the finishing touches on their new CD The Obsidian Conspiracy, for which the band are eying an early 2010 release. It will be their first studio release since 2005's This Godless Endeavor.

I'll be interested to see if Loomis' playing has progressed over the course of 5 years and a solo project...He has a great way of playing riffs that offer a little more than meets the ear, while keeping a catchiness and thrashiness to it.
