You're all probably fatigued/catching up on last week but there's still a couple big releases here.

Dewinged
08.24.21
A few I wanna check, Hooded Menace, Leprous, I guess I'll check the new Jinjer and the new Cvrches like an effing idiot too.

Oh dude, and I think we forgot about that Goat album (Headsoup)!

Gnocchi
08.24.21
I think I might of omitted it because google was being a jerk and it was a compilation or something.

In keeping with Dewi's informative post-post:

1. Torment & Glory: We Left A Note With An Apology is the project of Brian Cook, ex-Botch, Russian Circles, etc

2. Feral Lord is an offshoot of Acausal Intrusion members. There's a single streaming here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=si61BHhrC_8

3. FLUISTERAARS harmed no keyboards on their new album.

Dewinged
08.24.21
The Goat album is a b-sides comp with some new track(s) I think, I have no idea and I am supposed to review it lol

Have really liked the Leprous singles especially

Gnocchi
08.24.21
4. Headshrinker includes members of Polyptych, Havok, and a former member of The Absence, and sound something [ish] like Pyrrhon and something HM-2 orientated.

Dewinged
08.24.21
The cover is really unsettling for some reason

Slex
08.24.21
Oooooo damn I do love Pyrrhon

Divaman
08.24.21
I'll certainly check out the new album by Churches. There's also a new EP by The Sere and a new orchestral LP by Flock of Seagulls that I'll probably pick up.

LeddSledd
08.24.21
checking Leprous for sure

Gnocchi
08.24.21
5. White Stones isn't the Opeth death metal album we deserve, but it's the one we got anyways.

Parallels
08.24.21
Oooh Chvrches. Gonna jam that asap

Might also check out White Stones. Totally judging it by its cover but I'm down

nightbringer
08.24.21

I'll check Leprous.

DoofDoof
08.24.21

And the battle for the worst album of 2021 is ON. Onerepublic this week and Imagine Dragons next week will be strong contenders, but Maroon5 album will be probably too hard to pass. Also please change "Indie rock" from Onerepublic, to "trash pop". Thanks in advance.

SandwichBubble
08.24.21
One Republic: Human
Genre: Indie Rock

I thought you were joking. What ze fuck is going on with that?
Pop Rock/Alternative Rock for that, clearly.

Gnocchi
08.24.21
Close enough. Claiming curve balls.

SandwichBubble
08.24.21
Staff can tell the difference between "Dissonant Black Metal" and "Symphonic Death Metal," but can't tell the difference between pop rock and indie. What a blessing.

Gnocchi
08.24.21
In all honesty it was probably a data copy boo boo. If it makes you feel better; mea culpa. Will edit once I’m in front of a laptop again.

Dewinged
08.24.21
I labelled that one, but same, copy pasta from whatever, but don't worry, genre warriors, papa Gnocchi will change it so you all can sleep tight tonight.

SandwichBubble
08.24.21
Thanks, no hurry.
Seriously though, is dissonant black metal a thing or did you all just make it up

Dewinged
08.24.21
I won't speak without my lawyer.

SandwichBubble
08.24.21
This ain't going to court, this is being settled in the streets.
Bring your nerf gun.
It's nerf or nothing.

Dewinged
08.24.21
Nocti you heard the man!

Gnocchi
08.24.21
5th amendment rights at the ready.

Dewinged
08.24.21
You're done for good StoolwitchPuddle

Sowing
08.24.21
---Staff can tell the difference between "Dissonant Black Metal" and "Symphonic Death Metal," but can't tell the difference between pop rock and indie. What a blessing.---

The difference is that pop-rock is not a genre, indie is.

Gnocchi
08.24.21
Papa Sowing with a call from the umpire’s chair.

SandwichBubble
08.24.21
"The difference is that pop-rock is not a genre, indie is."
I want to ask what your definition of "indie" is, but I don't think my diseased, greasy heart could take it. I might actually keel over on the spot.

Sowing
08.24.21
I was hoping the wink emoticon would be implied

SandwichBubble
08.24.21
Nope, I take everything 100% literally.
Thank god though, I live to see another day.

Daisy99
08.24.21
kinda excited for Trent Reznor produced Halsey even tho i never liked her

botb
08.24.21
Turnstile is dropping an AOTY contender guaranteed based off the songs they’ve released

Sniff
08.24.21
Yall seem to be unaware of the fact that there is a new Our Place of Worship album

Project
08.24.21
stereogum gave new Chvrches a good review and now I'm ready to be hurt again

Parallels
08.24.21
@project
Dont do that. Don't give me hope.

zzf1918

LunaticSoul
08.27.21
I will need some of you pretentious fucks to tell me if that Halsey disc is good or not before I make judgements

no seriously trent reznor produced it? color me interested lol

Gnocchi
08.27.21
Surprised no one mentioned that boob yet tbh

LunaticSoul
08.27.21
I was about to write that she looks 100% like my ex on the Manic cover, and 0% like my ex's boobs on the new cover.

Who wrote about OSI releasing a new one? I don't see anything. are we speaking about the correct OSI?

Gnocchi
08.27.21
Did you write the Jupiter bit too.

LunaticSoul
08.27.21
Ah..... I'm an idiot, thought it was two different bands. OSI is prog Matheos/Moore side proj that used to be really good in the 00s.

Elynna
08.27.21
Apparently there's also a new Wormwood record out. Jeez, week is absolutely loaded.

JS19
08.28.21
