Don't worry, if you hate it, we can consider it a one week experiment gone wrong and return to the status quo. But I don't want to hear about how no one ever tries to change things, then.

Not 100% on whether I should check anything new this week, The Flaming Lips dropped out of my rotation years back (mildly intrigued though). Last 'Tomb Mold' was decent, my priorities are likely elsewhere mind. Wasn't a fan of Falls of Rauros' last album. Got a decent backlog to tackle anyway.

It's cool to have all that info about featured reviews, lists etc but it's info you can already see it on front page. New releases, with that big cool new art and genre tags was, in my opinion much more appealing.
But anyway since I seem to be alone in this I guess I'll have just have to get used to it lol
Great job otherwise dude, I know how time consuming both this and the old format must be.

I still appreciate the attempt at something different and more than anything I want the site to be successful in implementing changes people like, I can definitely see how it might work for some people. Unfortunately on this occasion it doesn't satisfy my own personal feelings and if it's a straight choice between the old format 'as is' or this, think I'd choose to revert to the previous incarnation.

But anyway dude is old af and is clearly scared of change.

I remember someone complained about the title. And instead changing the title Sow changed the whole section. Is the change good? Sure! It looks great, and it's a breeze of much needed fresh air to the site but if it was me I'd keep the new releases as it was, call it "New releases" and maybe make a separate bi-weekly or monthly post as "Site news" with this format.
Just throwing some more ideas out there.
07.19.19
Looks like you fixed the discrepancy between the title of these posts ("Sputnik News") and their content by changing the content to match the title. Might I suggest going the other way round instead? That is, could you keep the content focused on new releases and simply change the title to "New Releases"? It strikes me that the change you have gone for here produces a net loss in the site's value. After all, it reduces info about new releases (sacrificing art work and genre tags) for reminders and summaries of pre-existing site content. Maybe this is just a personal preference at the end of the day, but I find the fuller info about new releases much more valuable and I would be sad if my feedback about the title of these posts in that thread a couple weeks ago led to the diminishing of that feature!
Of course, if upkeeping that feature is too much work, that's understandable, but as others have suggested, perhaps that work could be delegated elsewhere?
Again, though, kudos on the positive attitude to change.

Genre tags, however, have helped me discover many artists I've never heard of before. That's not gonna happen anymore without them, so I do really hope you'll find the time to add them back.
