Kris Noris Leaves Darkest Hour

2008-09-12 by Athom EMERITUS | 11 Comments
Guitarist Kris Norris has left Darkest Hour. He issued a statement to Blabbermouth.net earlier today to address what were at the time rumors of his departure.

"Yes, it's not a rumor — I have left Darkest Hour. Well, I'm not in the band anymore; see it how you want. Let's do no press statements, let's do no bullshit, let's just leave it what it is — I'm not in the band anymore, that's all. See you if I see you. I'm actively pursing some producing routes and any band that might want a guitarist, feel free. I haven't off music totally, not just yet."

Norris joined Darkest Hour in 2004 and plays on 2005's Undoing Ruin and last year's Deliver Us.

It doesn't sound like he knows how to talk.

This sucks, but it does seem like he thinks he's too cool for DH.

Boo.

He was nothing special. Some nifty guitar lines here and there..............all straight out of Slaughter of the Soul era.

He's a solid guitarist, but he never played anything that absolutely blew me away so hopefully they'll pick up someone better.

It's not like they won't easily find someone that can play all of his parts after a few hours of practice.

are you guys fucking kidding me? this guy is one of the most tasteful lead guitarists around! the stuff on "deliver us" is amazing, his solos are like songs within songs!

i'll be surprised if DH are a patch on what they used to be after this...

This is kinda gay. He was a damn good guitarist.

It's a shame it wasn't the drummer.

Anyway, I think they'll be fine. Norris was good and wrote some really cool (and yes, tasteful) stuff. But a fair amount of his work on Deliver Us started to sound samey. I feel like he fell back on sweeps too much. It is too bad, but I think that they'll be just fine. Besides, John Henry is the man.
