Protest the Hero's Bloodmeat

2007-12-06 by Tyler EMERITUS | 33 Comments
Underground Operations, Protest the Hero’s long-time Canadian label, has announced that they will be the exclusive carriers of Protest the Hero’s upcoming single “Bloodmeat” off of their much anticipated sophomore release Fortress. The track will be made available for digital purchase on December 11th, but for those unwilling to wait (or pay the expectedly low price), BlackTopGuerillas.com has an exclusive first look at the track’s soon to be released music video, featuring around half of the track in it’s final, studio-produced glory.

The video-promo also confirms the album’s final cover, which features goats, purple and pink nebulae and a deer-horn wearing goddess. The cover has not been released in a larger format, but can be viewed on the opening splash page at UndergroundOperations.com

Fortress is set for a North American release date of January 29th, 2008.

We really need embedded links tbqh. BlackTopGuerillas isn't the only site with exclusives: look forward to more Sputnik-exclusive PTH content, such as Tim Millar's favourite releases of 2007. Maybe more. Who knows....

They also performed the song (and more) on MTV Live Canada earlier this evening, but it hasn't shown up online yet so when that happens I'll edit it in. It might not work for anyone outside of Canada though we shall see.

And that's the first, and weaker half, of the song. You also gotta love how the director talks over the cooler vocal melodies and how arif's unintelligible rambling happens over Rody going pretty high into his range. This Message Edited On 12.06.07

Well you can hear half of it on the link at the bottom. The stuff I'll edit in later is just a live performance, and you can find those online already with pretty great ease.

So Coke quick question; how pissed off are you that PtH are opening for Silverstein and The Devil Wears Prada in the states next year?

Not very, considering they always play with atrocious bands.

Hmmm I'm kind of dissapointed with the first half of the song at least, it's not bad but it's just not PTH's best.

QuickTime is good at that. I can send you an audio rip of the video but it's kind of awkward with all the talking and such.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

However, Rody's mustache and hair make him look like Brandon Flowers, amiright?

Give him credit man, it took him years to grow that thing.

If the second half is even better, I think I just creamed my pants....

On a side note, Cellador and The Sword were decent... but Trivium sucked (at the thanksgiving day show last year).

Completely blown away by some of those riffs. The vocals, although, sound really immature still. Thats my only quarrel with this band.

The vocals are some of the best parts of the song.

I can see where you come from, but I've never been one for vocals. Music with no vocals (or minimal amounts of vocals) are the best bands on the face of this earth.

That's a weird opinion you have there.

Thank you Kal. I will take that as a compliment. I'm just more into PTH's instrumental side because they are excellent musicians all around the table....except for their lead singer IMO.

That's a pretty offensive statement. You can say you're not a fan of vocals, or his vocals, but you just said he wasnt an excellent musician because of it.
