The more I hear this song and read the promo stuff around it, the more put off I am from the whole thing. I've seen people say there was a Matt Pike interview where he concedes Sleep is Al's baby, and that's fine I guess. But with this song you can definitely tell that Matt's not there, and without him it's just Sleep Lite. Like the song is more or less the same Sleep style song, but it's just so neutered. Sad times, new Sleep is supposed to be exciting. : (

I do think people are being overly harsh on this and feel bad for Bubba in all this

Riff wise, it's fine, not one of their best but could have passed for a Sciences by side. What it's really lacking is tone though. It sounds thin and weak compared to that album
