Static-X are Terrible Liars 2023-02-08 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 15 Comments | Static-X have released the first single from their upcoming Project Regeneration: Volume 2, a cover of the Nine Inch Nails song "Terrible Lie".
Made using Wayne Static's vocals, the surviving trio of Tony Campos, Ken Jay and Koichi Fukuda recorded new music for the cover, which remained unreleased for a number of years. Along with the song's release, the group announced that Vol. 2 of their Project Regeneration era will include 13 tracks, although it is not yet confirmed how many contain Wayne Static's vocals, given previous comments alluding to entirely new material being performed too, as well as the possibility of songs using riffs written by Static before his death.
Project Regeneration: Volume 2 is scheduled for release on 3 November 2023. More details regarding the album are TBA.

Nice! I'm looking forward to this. REALLY liked Vol.1, at least a lot more than I thought I was gonna.
| | | The moment when technology will allow the perfect reproduction of singers's voices is coming.
Autotune has been used for decades but soon you'll be able to hear new songs from not Michael Jackson, not Freddy Mercury etc...
I'm not saying this as if it was positive.

What a time to be alive.

| | | Great cover to a great song!
| | | This trope of metal covers of non-metal songs need to stop.
| | | Hoped it would be more different from the original, but this is still alright, just not too exciting. I also really appreciate that Edsel donated his body to be the new host for Static's soul, this shit is uncanny.
| | | It's decent but not great. As the one dude said, NIN is impossible to cover (including Johnny Cash's attempt at Hurt, too).
RIP Wayne

yeah, it's the infamous long covid effects
| | | I've got an attachment to the album this originally came from so this was disappointing to me but I think I was pretty much destined not to like it from the start.
RIP Wayne though

You just contradicted yourself. John Cash proved that it's absolutely possible to create an incredibly good cover of a NIN song. The cover is arguably better than the original.

| | | Solid cover, I enjoy this
