Beyond the Veil tho

Wish the best for them. [2]
Although I know them by name, I didn’t check them out during their prime, due to the all too known restraints music fans are unconsciously subject to, especially when the internet was nascent.
For everyone interested, former vocalist Vibeke Stene and Asgeir Mickelson (Spiral Architect) have a joint project called Veil of Secrets.

Used to have some songs from Illumination come on during my Pandora days. Some very nice tracks.

It sucks but yeah like pizza said before it's not unexpected.
I preffer them from World of Glass onwards but the albums with Mortem also had their jems.

I am not really into gothic metal, but I love gothic doom metal (same with other doom subgenres) like the Velvet Darkness album by Theatre Of Tragedy (they appear in the similar artists section of Tristania) or Arcane Rain Fell by Draconian for example.

Wasn’t the same without Vibike

Couldn't find a fucking sense to this crossover of death growls and opera-esque vocals. What are you trying to achieve man? You're not reinventing the wheel, you're just trying to appeal to a crowd that doesn't exist.

"you're just trying to appeal to a crowd that doesn't exist"
stupid take considering how popular it is

Just listened to Beyond The Veil bc of this post and that shit is leaps and bounds better than most of the gothic metal that was being released around that time period.

Not unexpected. I don't think they have released anything since 2013. For anyone who's interested, Morten Veland's been reviving a bit of the older Tristania sound on the new Mortemia tracks. Maybe not as great, but it's definitely close at times. Just stay far away from whatever the fuck Sirenia turned into.
Glad I nabbed Beyond the Veil on LP. That album owns.

Yeah man I love At Sixes and Sevens. Elixir was pretty solid too, but that's where I taper off..

Understandable. Let's hope that the situation will improve for the affected family.
Beyond the Veil remains a staple of the genre. I'm glad I managed to see the band in 2014 during a festival and even had a short meet-and-greet with them; I still have the signed event poster stored somewhere in my room.
