Kid Rock doesn't need life advice

2021-11-24 by amateur grammar vigilante woodtouching over the sanctity of what things are *supposed* to mean | 114 Comments
Fifty year old hard rock pioneer and hip hop inventor, Robert James Ritchie alias "Kid" Rock, has dropped an incendiary new single and video titled "Don't Tell Me How To Live" that tells millennials, snowflakes, and other haters just how much of a fuck he really absolutely does not give.

Renowned musical comedian "Weird" Al Yankovich has weighed in on the release and said, "That's not me. That's actually Kid Rock."

it's not a good tone for a good band, but if your dealer was like 'dude i dialed in a killer preset on my hx stomp' and this was the tone you'd be like 'huh that's actually pretty good'. it's not like this song calls for a maz38 through blues

mostly it's just really well captured and actually has some mids and isn't just gain

Lmao excellently put

In all seriousness I think the fact that he doesn't actually say anything very offensive here speaks to how ultimately harmless and goofy it is. I'd even go so far as to say this is better than the lion's share of his big pop hits, which mostly suck in far less entertaining ways

just to mention again, bc it's pertinent, this guy lied about his upbringing, claimed to grow up in trailerparks in michigan, but he had rich family and grew up on a nice ranch. his entire 'persona' is strictly a persona, like literally a made up bullshit thing. I don't know how honest he is about that fact, like idk if he admits that it's a character or not but I somehow doubt it.

Eons

as far as him being worshipped in the south, that's just sad, southern people need to get more in touch with their own blues and folk music legends instead of this pop country bullshit.

In my defense, it cost me 20 pence from a car boot sale (that's about a quarter from a flea market, for you Yanks out there) and I spun it once before immediately giving it away to the nearest charity shop (that's a thrift store, for you US plebs.)

Lol, yeah the DLR and Boss lines struck me as odd too. AFAIK Sammy Hagar is/was the only openly conservative member of Van Halen which would have made a *far* more appropriate point of reference for the Kid.

Or maybe he just couldn't think of any cons cool enough to want to compare himself to.

The Ted Nugent lookalike is apparently really offended about some of the backlash he's getting for the song he sang on that mocks people for being too easily offended. Even the Hardtimes couldn't top real life right now. This song just keeps on giving.
