Pretty pretty.

Awesome stuff. Nice little Sunday surprise.
|
| |
ahh damn you just beat me to the news item on this XD
this is really cool, It sounds like something that would be made if Plini and Tycho collaborated.
|
| |
That was nice, I wouldn't mind an EP of that
|
| |
i like how you say "his words" like you'd be ashamed of writing that lol. Gonna check though, dig myself some pleen
|
| |
Lol, the concept and description do come off as a bit pretentious, but I'll be damned if it doesn't work surprisingly well.
|
| |
issa' vibe
|
| |
this is pretentious as fuck
|
| |
is the concept that pretentious? man's writing instrumental music. "didn't have a death in the family to draw on from for inspiration today but hey, those pictures look cool and are giving me some melodic ideas." he's not trying to make philosophical claims or grandstand at all lol
as for the songs, decent enough, albeit a bit too sparse imo. seems to occupy a middle ground between recent jakub and micic projects.
|
| |
No it's not that pretentious. It's just a bit pretentious.
|
| |
quite often, weather permitting, i like to go birding/surfing
|
| |
I saw him post those pictures, cool to see he actually used them.
|
| |
"seems to occupy a middle ground between recent jakub and micic projects."
Oop, sounds like recent micic, looks like its immediately bad am I right??????????? haha. HA.
|
| |
wowee u sure got me haha
|
| |
Making ambient music..? oh, must be tunnel visions then, 2.5!!!!!!! SUCKS!!!!!!!!
|
| |
Doesnt have djun djuns or over the top opera vocalist, wow it's a real tragedy, he really fell off, everything boring on new material, only good song is an interlude, lol.
|
| |
bad music lol
|
| |
All ambient djent artists are indeed tunnel visioned, it is proven by the best of the best reviewers, has to be commemorated
|
| |
Darius is the best at getting woooosh'd too! very impressive
|
| |
what is happening does this song have no guitars or something (!!!) what's all this fuss
|
| |
ramon has created the best review known to man, it is the who bit the moon by david maxim micic review, he's right on every comment, especially about the tunnel vision, wanting to go ambient and also djent immediately means 2.5, he is the best of the best, and knows best, who can deny this amazing review.
|
| |
2.5 =/= bad
not sure why you are under the impression i hate the record
haven't claimed to be right, just claimed to have an opinion
please chill out lmao
|
| |
ramon has created the best review known to man, it is the who but the moon by david maxim micic review, he's right on every comment, especially about the tunnel vision, wanting to go ambient and also djent immediately means 2.5, he is the best of the best, and knows best, who can deny this amazing review.

New Plini 'song' Birds literally sounds like something that would be on who bit the moon, if the rest of Plini's new material is like this as well, roman will probably 2.5 it, my immediate thought when I heard Birds
|
| |
nice, keep up the blog
|
| |
"New Plini 'song' Birds literally sounds like something that would be on who bit the moon"
Plini has said these tracks are "interludes", so the implication here is you think Who Bit the Moon is a collection of interludes, which ironically is half the reason I gave it a 2.5. So yea, if the next Plini record was all interludes and no songs, I'd probably not give it a super high rating. That being said, Plini has acknowledged these are interludes, and that implies he's writing or has written "songs". That's good. I also compared this to Zytecki, someone I like a fair amount.
Also, once again, 2.5 =/= bad. Just a reminder.
|
| |
I was not implying Who Bit the Moon was all interludes (and must correct that every song is up near his best material, ofc it is), I was implying that these new interludes sound like something that would show up on WBtM. Which means if Plini makes a full effort around this sound (which means full songs 5 to 6 mins on average, and maybe a couple interludes sprinkled), it could essentially be a pseudo WBtM 2 of sorts (not implying it would be exactly the same, do not insinuate this).
|
| |
I know. I’m putting words in your mouth. As you’ve been doing this entire thread. Not very nice, huh?
And cool, I have no problem discussing similarities to WBtM and this record potentially acting as a sort of spiritual successor. We could have been doing that from the start but you opened with snark and sarcasm.
|
| |
gentle reminder you're arguing with someone who 5s btbam, green day, linkin park and periphery
|
| |
Not bad not bad
|
| |
what a thread lmao
|
| |
i didn't get it - so he thought that the photos he took looked like sheet music so he transcribed the pictures into the notes? BOY THAT IS PRETENTIOUS
both tracks are cool tho, i'm glad there are no djenty chug chugs
|
| |
He got heavily inspired by two photos, how PRETENTIOUS, amirite?
Come on, guys
|
| |
Cool concept, but the execution is only okay
Kinda bland
|
| |
"both tracks are cool tho, i'm glad there are no djenty chug chugs"
um the end of Birds has chugs my dude
|
| |
Curious what people find pretentious about this? Plini to me comes across as a really humble guitar player that lets his songwriting do the talking. I think a lot of people could learn from him, but maybe that's just me. He is also incredibly talented, and the fact that he isn't pretentious about it I find as a plus. Always interesting to hear other people's perspectives though
|
| |
Jesus, wait'll the people who think this is pretentious hear about John Cage using the I Ching...
|
| |
um the end of Birds has chugs my dude
there's a chance i might have turned it off before the end lol
|
| |
This is pretty cool, I dig it
