"The album will be the band's first album without guitarist Jeff Hickey, who left the band several weeks ago to focus on his health."
pretty sure Hickey is on most of the album, at the very least some of it, because it seems like a good chunk of it was recorded before he left
also, this is worded quite poorly, as the implication is that he's been on every album when he's only been on Wrongdoers and Polar Similar, you should fix that/clear up
anyways, super stoked for this
Digging: Botch - We Are the Romans
So many things wrong with the article as Calm mentioned, but yeah this album will probably be good.
Jeff will absolutely be on the record. They recorded this at the beginning of the year and Jeff only just left the band.
Jeff was on tour with the band after they've already recorded this album. There were videos of him recording his guitar parts. He's a nice dude, but his impact on the overall sound of Norma Jean is very little, because I'm pretty sure that all music is written by Corey himself since around Anti-Mother.
Wow this drops on my moms bday, will jam in her honor
Digging: The Weeknd - After Hours
Pre-order your mom the vinyl
I am kind of nervous about this one.
"Wow this drops on my moms bday, will jam in her honor"
something about jamming your mom on her bday
Digging: The Old Wind - Feast On Your Gone
let's hail 'em
Can't wait for this. Polar Similar was brilliant.
Hell yeah. They really have been chugging along in this third era. Last two albums stand up to any of their classics. And yeah, Jeff recorded the entire thing before checking out.
this is gonna riff pretty good
Dope. Looking forward to a single!
“Wow this drops on my moms bday, will jam in her honor“
Buy her a vinyl copy
kind of not looking forward to this
Cool, looking forward to this.
As someone who hasn't really scratched the surface with Norma Jean, what would peeps recommend as a starting point?
I'd say either Redeemer or Wrongdoers. Wrongdoers is the perfect culmination of their sound while Redeemer is where they truly found their sound.
Digging: Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
Start with their last two, “Polar Similar” and “Wrongdoers”; they’re much easier to get into as opposed to their earlier material, where patience and attention is highly recommended and rewarded.
Goddammit toondude you are useless.
the single was
You are worthress toondude bardwin
You are worthress toondude bardwin
You fucked up my whore pran and now my stock in you has farren
Nah, new song is a total banger
Is this like a "long live the chariot" sorta thing thang?
Yeah, new song is good.
I feel another banger coming
New song is probably the best I've heard from them.
"Is this like a "long live the chariot" sorta thing thang?"
not close lol, chariot goes way harder
That cover art is crap and generic though
Yeah the album cover is pretty boring but still excited for the album.
NJ's cover art is almost never good, tho.
I like it
all hail WU TANG
"NJ's cover art is almost never good, tho."
Meridional's is pretty great with whatever the fuck is going on in it.
"not close lol, chariot goes way harder"
I meant in regards to the "all hail norma jean" stuff.
could be, after all it was the fans who decided the album title here
and half of the songs on long live were titled after fans' names so
These guys have been lame since whatever came after o god the aftermath.
this is one of their better covers but yeah it's not a long list
But Redeemer came after O God and that was a total banger
Every album was a banger I stand by this
i really hope this album doesn't have any lame interludes, the only one that's not annoying from the past three albums and actually works well is "Afterhour Animals"
Come on now, you know it's going to have interludes.
Wrongdoers cover art is about as good as that metalcore vibe gets
"Come on now, you know it's going to have interludes."
I know...I can hope though
Aw, shucks. I was hoping for a single with the article.
article needs to be updated with the single added and the stuff about Jeff Hickey cleared up
Is Mind Over Mind the new song? I like it.
new song sounds more in vein of Wrongdoers than Polar Similar, which is awesome. polar was dope but it was a little less hectic and ferocious than Wrongdoers which was them at their absolute peak imo
That is encouraging.
