Good stuff
| |
Not bad. Some catchy riffage and choruses
| |
Yeah, super catchy
| |
AYKM was awesome so I should prolly check this.
| |
Super weird on first listen. I can't remember if I thought Are You Kidding Me was a similar experience. Love these guys, I hope the album clicks.
| |
I love this so, so much.
Might fuck around and write a review if nobody else does soon.
| |
Go for it Ghost ;)
| |
Yeah Ghost you should write a review, but I don't like as much as I'd hoped and I'd rather someone with strong feelings about the album write a review.
| |
Vocals are definitely better on this one though. Part of the reason I think is because Paolo's English is improving so his rhymes aren't as clunky.
| |
The production is fucking ace and the guitars are chunky and just so pleasing.
| |
Also just been in the mood for noodly shit the past couple of days.
| |
Production is great. Too bad the actual music isn't as engaging as past Destrage. :[
| |
Agree to disagree bruh.
Connected with me instantly, just such a cohesive piece of music and the riffs are plentiful and quality throughout.
| |
If you think these riffs are quality you might need to go re-listen to AYKMN and TKIFNO. But after you write your review so that it doesn't bias you.

This wouldn't sound out of place on Doppelganger.
| |
That riff is pretty tech and it's one of the better riffs on the album, but it's not nearly as catchy as Destrage's best riffs. Destrage used to write techy riffs that were also insanely catchy. Like every song used to have 2 or 3 great riffs. This album probably has 2 or 3 total.
| |
It has a lot of good grooves that aren't necessarily techy but just make me smile.
| |
Sigh, maybe I'm just expecting too much since I love this band so much.
| |
You still appreciate Periphery post debut so maybe songwriting is a different beast to you and me entirely.
| |
I also like Periphery for almost completely different reasons than I do Destrage, but ultimately it's about great riffs.
| |
Absolute banger.
| |
The riffing is so fast. It feels fast for the sake of being fast, and you lose a lot of the details
Also I find they raised their TDEP influences a lot. It feels more 'chaotic' in a way.
These are my two major gripes with the disc
| |
Your gripes are the things that I enjoyed the most about the record, because to me this never felt as overly indulgent. Grooves and vocals are excellent too. It's always relative.
| |
"Hey, Stranger!" new video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_B2J8cEd2U4
| |
Video is pretty good and that song has grown on me. Maybe the whole album is growing on me.
| |
Album rocks, and needs a nice (3.5 or higher) SH review ;)
| |
Ha! If it grows on me more this week then I might. :]
| |
Listening to the album now and not gonna lie, the intro to the title track is godly
| |
Aight new album fuckin rules. Maybe their best.
| |
2019 looks like the year of the prog metal moped. First Moon Tooth and now Destrage. Who's gonna ride one next?! Tool? Mastodon? xD
| |
Hmm, Moon Tooth you say? Will check em out
New Thank You Scientist should smash too
| |
Get on it bloc!
| |
New Scientist is gonna bang.
| |
Gonna jam this now and maybe pop a write up at the end of the day.
