Nocturnus AD in a Paradox

2019-03-21 by brettgoespunk | 29 Comments
Nocturnus AD, built of members from the seminal death metal band, Nocturnus, have released their debut single an announced an album to go along with it. The song is titled Procession of the Equinoxes and will be on the upcoming album, Paradox, out on May 24th through Profound Lore Records.

Their Bandcamp profile states that they were "resurrected from the ashes" of Nocturnus and founding member/"mastermind" Mike Browning and that they plan to pick up where Nocturnus' The Key left off.

This is really good. You almost never see a 1:1 pickup in quality when bands reunite after a long period of time.

Nutted the first time when I saw the news. Nutted again when I listened to the track. I mean holy shit, this is so close to the original Nocturnus sound, it's not even funny. If the rest of the album is like this, it might just be the best DM record of the year.

It's decent, but I'm not blown away. Sounds more like Absu meets Wormed to me at this point in time.
