FUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blood Music you beautiful bastard. Made my day. So good!
|
| |
I have never both loved and hated a genre tag as much as "dream thrash"
I want to like this but the vocals are kinda killing me
|
| |
was wondering when they were gonna put something new out
|
| |
Awesome. Debut was interesting, to say the least, can't wait to see where they progress that sound
|
| |
Yes fucking finalllllyyyyyyy. Hype hype hype hype
|
| |
I loved their first EP, enjoyed a few tracks from the debut, but the production was odd and I couldn't get into the whole thing. I still feel like these guys could make a killer record one day.
|
| |
With an entirely different vocal scheme yeah. I saw them play a couple months ago, and barring the terrible mixing, the only thing that wasn’t cool as fuck was the clean singing
|
| |
what is dream thrash
|
| |

"what is dream thrash"
Dreampop/shoegaze played at thrashy tempos.
|
| |
oic. thanks.
|
| |
dis pretty cool
|
| |
this slap
|
| |
Eyes?
|
| |
I love how bold the guitars sound in their recordings.
|
| |
The drums sound a lot better on this than they did on Air. Not really feeling the vocals at this point in time, but they sound pretty on par with Air from what I recall, perhaps a little more spacey on this.
|
| |
air was amazing
this track is amazing
this band are killing it
|
| |
Air is one of the best albums of the past few years, can’t wait for this. Y’all should check the EP’s too if you haven’t they slay ahrd. m/
|
| |
Alright. I'll have to check these guys out.
|
| |
Didn't like Air; don't like this.
Not for me, I guess.
|
| |
Fuck yeahhhhhh Air rules so hard
|
| |
love this
|
| |
amazing
|
| |
hell yeah finally
|
| |
the vocals would be okay if they were produced in a way that made them more up front (as in less reverb and delay? idk)
think that's how you get to be more Mew than random squeaky-clean modern prog metal
|
| |
Never heard of these guys, but that track sounded great. I'll pretend I never saw the term "dream thrash"...
|
| |
they coined the term themselves iirc, but does it really thrash? Ehhhh, but who cares
|
| |

nah man i think they nailed it on this one - the expression on the vocals comes through at the same time as sounding spacey and ethereal. sounds great.
|
| |
"they coined the term themselves iirc, but does it really thrash? Ehhhh, but who cares"
Ugh no wonder. Reminds me of when I learned recently that Azusa coined the term "avant thrash" lol
|
| |
You guys act like Dream Thrash isn't a pretty apt genre description of the music. What would you call it?
|
| |
progressive metal, but honestly I don't really care what they call themselves
|
| |
Bloc this is your first time hearing of them seriously? Check out their only LP, it's really neat!
|
| |
Will do sir, looking forward to it after hearing this song
|
| |
bloc, imma need you to bounce on to that Dream Thrash bandwagon dick. STAT
|
| |
I actually really like the vocals, feel like they suit the song (and overall sound) pretty perfectly.
|
| |
oH SHIT!
|
| |
idk they just have a hint too much whiny-ness for me but they're not too bad, just slightly off for me
|
| |
It'll fall into place.
|
| |
"You guys act like Dream Thrash isn't a pretty apt genre description of the music. What would you call it?"
dream pop punk
|
| |
absolutely punts the boong
|
| |
Hope you like it bloc. It's addicting to me, so catchy that I listened to its tracks hundreds of times in the first couple weeks I discovered it. I found it a the perfect time, landing in Vancouver in the middle of summer. Every morning I'd wake up, buy a fat blunt from the nearby dispensary, take the train to downtown, get high as fuck and listen to Air on repeat as loudly as possible while exploring the city and buying metal shirts. That was a really good summer. I have cemented very fond memories with that album.
It may not do a ton for you but it hits every checkbox for me. Never heard anything like it.
|
| |
Started Air, but uhhhh I fucking hated it and shut it off after two songs lol.
|
| |
Nomos don't hype it up soooo much I'm getting nervous haha
|
| |
Not even cannabis-induced psychosis in public could make me get into this.
Idk maybe it could.
|
| |
Oh damn dbiz, I would have thought you'd dig these guys
|
| |
I love Deafheaven and this is right up that alley!! This is really fantastic stuff!!
FYI it's like Deafheaven Dream House album but with melodic vocals, no shrieking.
In certain moments it almost drifts into really poppy vocal layering but overall it's really fresh and I am about to try their other stuff!
Check this out!!!!
|
| |
And their new song is even poppier. Vocals seem less distorted and are higher in the mix. Like I said in the other thread it sounds like a Blink 182 chorus and I fucking love it. Really hyped about the new album.
That's fair dbizz, it's not for everyone. I just like my metal as passionately happy as possible when I can get it, and that's not often, but I think these guys nailed it.

new track
this album is going to be amazing omg
|
| |
So far this looks to be better than Air, these guys have so much potential.
|
| |
New song is great. 2019 might be the year metal bands don't disappoint me.
|
| |
album's amazing
|
| |
there boys rip live, excited for this one
|
| |
Ya new album is pretty wonderful. At the moment even after 5-6 listens I'm trying to discern the songs. A few melodies popped into my head today so I think it's starting to work.
The only thing that bums me out a bit, and this might just be me, is I think the instrumentals took a hit to service the front-and-center vocals. At least I'm not finding as many memorable riffs as in Air, just a lot of great chorus vocals.
|
| |
Can’t wait to hear this. Will be thoroughly impressed if it’s better than Air.
|
| |
it is. it's out on bandcamp now.
