Just saw these guys not too long ago.
| |
Saw them for their last date on the Super Chon Bros tour, was wild. Fun band. This sounds pretty chill, looks like Covet and Polyphia have been spreading their influence for better or for worse.
| |
Cool video. I think these guys have a great album in them. Will this be it? Or are they going to sing on a couple tracks again?
| |
Im cool w this
| |
nice
| |
What was wrong with the singing on the last record?
| |
I thought it was pretty bad. Nothing wrong with giving it a shot, but it didn't compliment the music at all, imo.
| |
Fun drum intro!
| |
CHON Legacy
| |
how the FUCK are they not opening for tera melos though
| |
I really like the tracks with vocals. Wish they would do it more and on some of the more energetic tracks.
And Tera Melos should be headlining +1 but the CHON bros are more popular atm
| |
drumming on this is ace, also love the visuals here
| |
These guys always impress, love the video
| |
oniiiii chon
ONIIIII CHON

Not to dig on Chon––they're ok––but Tera Melos is far more interesting and innovative than their math rock peers (not to mention that they're legends at this point). Oh well. I guess that's what happens when TM don't release new material or play shows for nearly four years. I'll still catch a show, but only for Tera Melos tbh. Little Tybee will be a nice treat
| |
Just happy I get to see Nick & co melt faces again
| |
(new song is boring)

Also, probably no vox on this cause that was their original bassist and he's gone.

I actually asked Mitochondrion to do a tour with Chon once and they told me to piss off

Chon about to make a 5 with this. This song is very technical and really shows their growth as a band!
| |
this is a bad meme stop you guys
| |
Pretty good. I'm not huge on most instrumental music, but this is exactly the kind of instrumental stuff I like. Very excited for this album.

Getting some heavy old-school video game vibes from this (even disregarding the video) and I dig.

Song is very pleasant. I very much like the spastic sound.

:smirk:
| |
I've watched this video like 6-7 times now, something about it is very pleasing
| |
Chon is cool and all but fuck yes Tera Melos
| |
this is so good
| |
Good shit.
| |
It's good, but... they need to set themselves apart somehow. They have so much potential.
| |
eh the artists in this style are bound to sound samey. do what I do and compile a playlist of the best songs from each albo
| |
I'd like to do that, but it would be nice if there was a band that took it to the next level and crafted something just different enough to set themselves apart. There is a reason AAL is revered and Chon and Scale the Summit are just hanging on.
| |
They may be 80% shit, but take Thank You Scientist for example. They do this same tweedle sparkle shit but have a Haken wannabe singer doing his best to set them apart and it works, for better or worse.
| |
not really sure I would say Thank You Scientist's singing 'works' but to each their own I guess
| |
Oh, no, they suck hard- mostly because of the vocals. But at least they set themselves apart and have a fanbase as a result. The worst Chon songs have vocals so I'm not saying that is the answer.
| |
Haters CHONa hate.
| |
Never heard of Tera Melos.
