what makes 'shit' particularly dumb in contrast to other inanimate objects? obviously we can't be talking 'dumb' in terms of actual thought power because in that case 'shit' would be no more and no less dumb than literally all things that exist that do not have brains. so i'm assuming you are coming at it from an angle of functionality, which would make your comparison a lot dumber than 'shit' because the excretion of non digestible food waste is actually a pretty handy and intelligent bodily function. natural biology is quite arguably smart as shit which would be a much more succinct term.
