Definitely their weakest so far, but I still like it for what it is.
| |
I heard Atlas was good so I kinda just skipped to that and was blown away.
| |
Atlas is definitely one of the best on here
| |
Sweeeettttt new music for my work shift tomorrow! Definitely looking forward to this, the singles grew on me a lot and after not really feeling Descension I've been craving more Claudio.
| |
"Atlas" >>>
"Here to Mars" and "You've Got Spirit, Kid" are also jams. Rest of the album is kinda meh to me.
| |
Don't know why people hate on Descension so much, I thought it was perfectly fine.
| |
I'm thinking this one will grow on me -- it's just a totally different vibe from them. Even if it ends up being their weakest ever, I think I can definitely appreciate it for what it is like Toondude said.
| |
Island slayed me instantly, and that proggy outro to it... o/
| |
@Tondude10 I agree, I thought Decension was great
| |
Edit: NVM
This is a lot better than expected!
Edit 2:
fucking love this
| |
I'm pleasantly surprised. Atlas is really reminiscent of Yellowcard, but Island, Colors, Ghost, Young Love and Peace To The Mountain are all really great. I hate The Audience, Here To Mars and Eraser still, but these guys adapt to this milder pop pretty nicely.
| |
Descension is great [3]
| |
I really really like this album, it seems like the band just having fun and writing what they want to right, which is enjoyable for what it is. I'm sure they'll return to the heavier, concept-laden stuff too.
| |
Yea it's great that they're doing what they want. Better than Descension for sure
| |
It's gooooooooood
| |
Young Love is definitely the weakest song on here, there's just nothing that's interesting about it.
| |
Toon you should write a 2.5/5 review for this and turn things up in hurr
| |
I have the album at a 3.5 actually, and I think Irving is going to review it anyways.
sorry to disappoint
| |
Very Eh for me. Pretty let down.
| |
Gotta wait for that physical copy to get in my hands. Don't wanna blow my load too early.
| |
so it was a 3/5 after all
| |
This is a 2.5 and I might review it. Used to fanboy so hard for this band 7 years ago.
| |
this is like the first time I've listened to an album from them, lol
| |
You should check In Keeping Secrets next if you feel like delving into their previous stuff. That album was the soundtrack to my senior year high school.
| |
I get to see them on Friday in KC. They're playing a free show and doing a meet and greet at a local record store, pretty excited even though I've seen them 7 times already.
| |
Descension > Ascension
| |
"Descension > Ascension"
lol yeah except not even close
| |
Gravity's Union is such an epic song. Definitely agree - Descension is a great record. I think that I tend to not mind if a band that I love releases a record that I'm not completely into. This might not ever grow past a 3 for me, but there are still some seriously killer moments and I definitely love how honest this record is.
| |
Ascension >>>>>>> Descension and that's fact
| |
Neither one are as good as pre 2010 Coheed tho.
| |
"Neither one are as good as pre 2010 Coheed tho."
Too bad No World for Tomorrow sucks when compared to the other 3
| |
People say that but No World is one of my favs.
| |
Young Love was alright
| |
Ghost is perfection! Would feel right at home on Brand New' 'Devil and God are Raging Inside of Me'. Never thought I would compare those two bands, but seriously, amazing track!
| |
what is this drum production
| |
Young Love is one of my favourites off of this. Way better than expected, even enjoying here to mars a lot as part of the album. YGSK is the weakest by far.
| |
Best tracks for me were Island, Ghost, Atlas, and Peace to the Mtn.
| |
The production is quite bad. Atlas is great
| |
production is fine if you ask me
| |
Coming from a big Coheed fan, I was pleasantly surprised. Came in with pretty low expectations though. I've liked everything they've made a lot except maybe Ascension and YOTBR.
| |
Good to see that they don't need big comic book stuff to make good tunes.
