2007-04-19 by Mardy | 12 Comments
The Danish festival Roskilde Festival announced their line-up today at 2 pm Danish time. With about 170 bands (and some more to come), this festival is one of Europe's biggest of its kind.
Prominent names include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, the Who, Queens of the Stone Age, Björk, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Arcade Fire, the Killers, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mastodon, Basement Jaxx, Eagles of Death Metal, Hayseed Dixie etc. etc. etc.
Slayer were also slated to appear, but cancelled since their European tour ends 1st of July and Roskilde Festival starts on the 5th of July.
The festival begins its camping days on July 1st, the music four days later and it all ends on the 8th.
BBC recently stated that Roskilde Festival was 'legendary' and has 'the best line-up this summer'.

Björk is the main incentive to go.

Not as good as last year's line-up though.

Jesus, that's one hell of a line up. Here in South Africa, we freak out the second Guns 'n' Roses, 3 Doors Down and Staind tour here.

I am going, I think the Werchter line up is better, but I like this too. Do you know if the big artists get a full line up?

Wow. What a lineup. Dragon_Prince, I don't think the artists get as much time as they would on a show just of them, but they probably get around an hour and fifteen minutes, I'm guessing.

It's 8 days and has 6 stages, so I think it could be devided easily.

All the major bands get a full setlist, and I guess that most of the others do as well. That's how I remember the past 4 years.
