sea started a band? cant wait for the indie jams
| |
nah it'll be emo
| |
Better have 8 bit all up in their shit.
| |
Actually sounds awesome. Anything with Joshua Travis (The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza guitarist) should pretty much rule.
| |
I hope it's all electronic like SEA was
| |
It's not.
| |
Just when I thought I could get more Giants in the Ocean in my life...
| |
Its only the second former singer. I don't even think SEA is even active anymore. Shame.
| |
To be fair, Everything Perfect was by far their most enjoyable, and they took a decidedly downhill turn after getting rid of Roush.
| |
Sounds pretty good
| |
Didnt expect to care but after watching the video it sounds not too bad. will be interested to check it out
| |
Jerry is the guy who replaced austin carlile in of mice and men, and when all the scene kids started bitching, they had to get austin back in.
| |
Most likely going to suck.
| |
sounds interesting, then again I'm one of the few people here that took SEA seriously
| |
As a fan Josh Travis's music I figured it would be great, almost sounds like new When Knives Go Skyward with a different singer to me.
| |
Their self titled is shamefully underrated. Provided great atmosphere, was catchy as all hell, and had far better musicianship than 90% of the metalcore crap out today. No idea why anyone prefers their first album, kind of bland if you ask me, the electronic elements are more prominent, but it's just boring in comparison.
| |
Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day fucking ruled
| |
SEA ST > OM&M everything
| |
This is old news, but I'm still intrigued. I saw SEA live once when Jerry was still in the band and they were pretty good, but Jerry seemed like a douche.
| |
They were awesome when it was just two guys making cool music. Once the original dude left and they formed an actual band they began to stink. this isnt the original singer, so dont really care.
| |
He was good enough for OM&M. He was originally intended to cover for Austin while he got heart surgery, but the band kept him because they liked him a lot more than Austin. It was OM&M's shitty scene fanbase that demanded Austin back, and for the sake of success, their label told them to bring back Austin.
| |
Don't even know why he was considered to fill in tbh. Roush has got more of a bark than a scream.
| |
Austin fry (whisper) screams. Jerry actually screams from the chest. It definitely doesn't sound as polished as Austin, but he actually screams, as apposed to giving the imitation of screaming.
| |
@iambandersnatch - you are not alone
| |
I loved their s/t album. Last band to mix the electronica in correctly if you ask me. Apparently
glasscloud used 8 string guitars....hopefully they put them to good use,
| |
^ I agree entirely
| |
The thing I like about Jerry's screams vs. 95+% of screams out there is that it actually has a lot of tone to it, i.e. it is much more of a sung-note than most screams, if that makes sense.
| |
Sounds like andcas doesn't know much about screaming.
Austin can fry scream at one high pitch. Jerry has an extremely dynamic voice and wide range for screaming. I saw OMAM w/Jerry at Warped tour and he was the only good thing about them.
This project is gonna rule. Jerry always puts together a good line up as far as musicianship goes... SEA's ST was ridiculously technically proficient for a "scene" album
| |
Yea OM&M wasn't in the right tuning to fit Jerry's vocals tbh. Jerry is a far better vocalist next to Austin though if you ask me.
| |
Jerry Roush > Austin Carlile. Plain and simple. Cant wait to hear more of Glass Cloud heard some samples on the updates. Sounds good, hopefully theyll be a good mix of technicality and brutality.
