Better than most of what they've done since Meteora, for sure. If it weren't for the fake accents, I'd even go as far as to say this is a good song. Chester being on this song at all just seems forced and unnecessary, but the voice kills it.

Chester's voice is fooked, prob no more screaming ever! Shinoda does his best, but is average on this. Lyrics absolutely suck (probably the worst LP lyrics ever written?), the only good bit is Mr Hahns turntables in the last 20 seconds...

I actually don't hate this, chorus included. I dunno how anyone can say it isn't at least a little bit of a throwback to Hybrid Theory/Meteora because from the sound alone I think it fits right in.

Maybe it's just a little too late for them to try and recreate that sound after one too many "What I've Done"-esque songs, and after that bomb of a single that "The Catalyst" was. Like someone said, it sounding more like a parody of themselves then them actually making an effort but even a parody of the old sound is still closer to the old sound then pretty much any song/album after Meteora.

Personally I kind of like it, raises my hope for the new album a tiny bit.

The overall idea and execution of the song itself is really impressive. The lyrics on the other hand are almost embarrassingly trite for the message they are trying to get across with Oppenheimer's (I think that's who it is) speech etc.

The chorus feels forced, probably should have just let mike continue.

Also please stop using the word "gay" to describe how the music sounds. It's literally the worst and least descriptive adjective to describe just about anything except actual gay people. Unless of course you're describing the greatest tribute band of all time...

I've never really liked Linkin Park. Their first 2 albums were just generic nu metal, and MTM ranged from being bizzarely average to just fucking awful. I gotta be honest, though, i've kinda been liking the singles from this album so far. (Well, i HATED The Catalyst at first, but it grew on me. This one instantly established itself as a guilty pleasure right off the bat, though.) MIGHT actually bother downloading this album....

I don't know if you could call their first two albums generic nu-metal. The issue is that you're referring to them in hindsight. At the time of their debut it was something pretty different for nu-metal. Their second album was only copying themselves. It's generic sounding these days because everyone tried to get rich off of their sound.

I've heard the album during a pre-listening event in Germany about two weeks ago. You people have no idea what you're talking about and what you're hating at. I can guarantee it will get a lot more hate than Minutes to Midnight because it has much more diversity than any other album I've listened to and I listen to Dream Theater, Tool, Riverside etc... and it's a fucking out of the ordinary, bizarre piece of material. There's elements in there from genres I didn't even dream about mixing. And for me, their previous albums were total non-creative shit.

This album at least is showing they're trying to go away from that radio crap they've tried before, unlike Nickelback or Stone Sour, so cut the dumbass-talk saying this is the worst shit you've listened to (if it's Linkin Park, it will get hate anyway). Thousand Suns is no Kid A, I don't know if that guy was on drugs or sth, but it's sure a thousand times better than anything they've done before.

There's not much sense posting neither news nor reviews on this site, because most of the people are either cursing or they are being complete douchebags. Not sure what's going on with the administration around here, perhaps they support posts like: "Holy fuck, what the fuck is that fucking shit" or "WHat the fuck is this shit, this fucking sucks balls, fuck man". Talk about living in a cave and smashing a rock to your head all day.

Not whining or anything, but ever since I've been here and been reading this and that, or posting my opinion, all I ever got was posts like "you're a noob", "that shit sucks" or simply a "no" without reasoning or explanation behind those replies. There's absolutely no reason for me to come here anymore and I'm sure nobody gives two cents about what I think, so continue with the bashing and cursing without me. Thanks.

*facepalm*
You know how when you see somebody do something so stupid and start to feel uncomfortably embarrassed for them? Yeah well, I just read through the lyrics. Speaks for itself.

That catchy hip-hop beat gives me the horrible feeling that I'm going to start hearing this song in the
clubs around my city real soon...

Mikes rapping is pretty cool, the beat is catchy as fuck. Chester kinda brings the song down though, don't like that chorus. [2]

Hahn is epic anyway.
Thinking I will like this record much more than MTM.

Mike Shinoda is the only good thing about this. Chester sounds like he's trying to make latin rock-styled melodies, and it doesn't work.

sounds like a mix between their older stuff and some sort of scotish accent gone horribly wrong. and VERY generic, uninspired rapping by m shinoda i must say.

And the saddest part is, this'll probably go top 10 on the charts. Seriously what was that?

The people here who can't identify the attempted accent amuse me.

Sounds like a white Chuck D over Industrial music with (like someone said) Flight of the Conchords yelling

LOL just when I thought Minutes to Midnight was bad, they top that and bring out two S hittier songs that makes MtM sound decent! OMG this has to be a joke

Well looks like they stepped up from their last song from horrible to this which is bad. But hey, maybe it will be a fun song.
