Putting Traced in Air beneath Shogun and Overcome, and only barely above The Incurable Tragedy, is a slap in the face of Sputnik.

Iced Earth, Into Eternity and Judas Priest made me laugh so hard. Those albums were amongst the worst I have ever heard.

However, Motorhead snuck in so now I am mollified and a little happy.

Some gems among the rough in this list, the tie at number 17 is especially good. As per usual should be much higher though!

Overall a pretty lame list. Watershed at #1 was a nice touch, though.

List is good and horrible at the same time. Cool to see 3 Swedish bands in the top 10 though.

I agree with Opeth at number 1. It's all around the best metal album I've heard this year, but then again I still haven't heard a lot off of this.

This is much better than I thought it was. The new Equlibirum albums is gay, flashy, and crap. Fuck that band. First record had some killer tracks though.

Just the fact that Shogun is put over Traced in Air and that Blooddrunk even made this list is saying something...

How the hell did Blooddrunk get on here and All hope Is Gone.

Pretty much to get on these lists a band needs to release a good album that some people think is a classic and then there next album gets a great rating while it sucked to put the band on the cover and sell there crappy magazine

Children of Bodom
In Flames
Hate Eternal- Good band but old albums killed this new one
All That Remains
Into Eternity
Disturbed
Dragonforce
Slipknot

Does this list really say that Disturbed and Slipknot are better than Cynic? I mean, each to their own, but...This Message Edited On 01.29.09

Into Eternity = The Incurable Tragedy
Trivium - Shogun
All That Remains - Overcome
Motley Crue - Saints Of Los Angeles
Disturbed- Indestructable
Amon Amarth - Twilight Of The Thunder God

First, yes this list greatly disappointed me last year's top 10 was way better than this year's top 50 from ME.

Second, I haven't been to a store with this mag so i just looked at the digital copy the night i posted this

Third, With the above in mind, i had to hand type all 50 albums so sorry for the typos

Lastly, Metal Edge is turning into shit, never covering ay good bands anymore...
