Megadeth New Album Update

2008-12-15 by jingledeath | 23 Comments
Megadeth are beginning to wrap up the songwriting portion of their next album, which is expected to be released sometime next year via Roadrunner Records. The CD is once again being produced by Andy Sneap, who produced Megadeth's 2007 album, United Abominations.

Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick has issued the following update:

"I am really excited about what I am hearing at Vic's Garage [Megadeth's recently built recording studio]. It's got aggression and some cool twists and turns. The other day I watched Dave [Mustaine] come up with some parts that have a heavy groove.

"This week will suck for me; I just got off the phone with the Los Angeles Superior Court and I have to report for jury duty tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. (puke). This will be the first time I have ever had to report and I have no idea what to expect."

If only Dave Mustaine put his intelligence to use and made music that differs from his past music. He has potential to be a good artist, he just doesn't do it.

UA was pretty good though. Oh, and it was released in 2007, not 2006.

Hopefully Chris makes the music somewhat better than it has been.

Can't wait to hear this one. Hopefully I'll be able to catch them on tour this time, and not get ripped off like I did last time.

Sup boring band?

if Rust in Peace had never been released, you would be permitted to say that. Unfortunately for you, it has.

Chris Broderick is a fantastic live guitarist...I hope he contributes a good portion of the leads on this record.

I didn't check out UA, but are Dave's vocals any better today than they were on RIP? If they are then I might just do that, and start getting excited for this.
