I really have no idea what to expect from this album.

will it be the st-anger 2? the black album 2? the master of puppets 2? Surprise surprise people

I think it's time Metallica went back to their roots:

Damnit. Now I have to wait another year for another 'Tallica album. Kind of like Radiohead and Massive Attack, but without all the excitement.

Its going to be the master blend of St Anger, Black album, and a stick of dog poop.

I dont know what to expect either. I think if they take to long over this it will be disappointing to some fans if its not super duper.

It's going to be a combination of Master Of Puppets and St. Anger. Mostly St. Anger. There will be solos. The drums won't be anything like what they were in St. Anger, and James's vocals will be relitively the same. It won't be much better than St. Anger but it will be an improvement. That's what I'm guessing.

This wasn't much of an update.

Ulrich gave an interview or something shortly before the Garage Inc. set was released. And he kept saying "Everyone keeps saying, 'hey man, since you're releasing a cover album...does that mean you ran out of ideas?'" And he was just saying, "thats not it at all."

Now he was truthful with that statement, because they haven't run out of ideas. It's just that they ran out of good ones. Except for No Leaf Clover...I think that was their last good idea.

I personally hate St Anger, it was the worst pathetic attempt at album this century. They are trying to come up with their old fomula for success but are failling dismaley. Generic metal thats all.

but i HOPE that they'll release sumthing good, heavy and NON REPETITIVE!!!!!

Butch Vig isn't all bad, he did produce the pumpkins Gish and Siamese Dream and both those albums Mutha F***ing kick ass!!!
