i read a report on the album, and it sounds like st anger part 2 is on its way.

*hopes against hope that's not true*

Lol BassBeginner, Except the fact that everything that has come out of the studio has purposely suggested that they are NOT going to make another st Anger.

if this is just a st anger part two, then i, like many others, will kick myself so hard.

I'm looking forward to see what comes out after St. Anger. I have a feeling things will be better than the last album.

Rick Rubin wouldn't let them make another St Anger, he's pretty good at knowing what the fans want. I think a modern day version of The Black Album might sound pretty good.

Imagine this...

Spring 2007...no news on the album...when suddenly it leaks...

All you see in YSI is...StAngerII.rar

What do you do?

1) Punch a hole in the fabric of reality and travel to an alternate universe where Sweden is the new America and In Flames are the new Metallica.
2) Say 'I told you so'
3) Wait vainly for Kirk's spoken-word album
4) Buy the album anyway
...all of the above, actually.

If this becomes St. Anger part 2, you all will no longer hear from me, seeing as how I will be located in an Mental Institution.

Well, since its comming from Kirk, I'll give it a chance. In that documentary, Kirk just sat there and didnt really have an opinion, and James and Lars thought they were making the best pile of shit ever.

Maybe St. Anger II would give us a reason to invade Iran.

Lars said in an interview that they were working on riffs from *THE ST. ANGER PERIOD*..... so i dont believe any of that crap about it not being a st.anger 2. Heres whatll happen, bass will be better than st.anger (not hard to beat) but still nothing over-impressive itll probly be like jason on the black album. Lars wont stand out as much as he did on st. anger, simply because there is a bass player present. Kirkll have 10 sec. solos (something youd find on a godsmack cd). And James will try and be a *singer*
but Rick Ruban *is* producing, and any producer who made Reign in Blood is a good sign for any metal band. This Message Edited On 06.06.06

I'll respect the band if the record turns out better than Load, but I'm in doubt.

Id rather it sound like Slayer than St. Anger.
Every great rock band seems to have one bad album that they redeem themselves from with a later album, I can only hope that this will indeed redeem and forgive Metallica for that sin they call St. Anger.

some of the things i like about metallica over slayer is that they have different depths, meaning they can go from a song like sad but true to a song like nothing else matters and then to wolf and man, and thats on all the records. Slayer is good if you want full blown metal in your face all the time but i like a little depth.

I doubt this album will be anywhere near as great as their early work. But I know it will have solos. Thus it's a step up from St. Anger
