guys vox are nice but generic ass music, im sure the mainstream metal channels will gush over it tho
| |
Really boring, even for a Bad Omens song. I enjoyed the first half of The Death of Peace of Mind, but the back half was bloated and overwrought and ultimately fell flat compared to those initial moments. Song feels like it could have been in that back half too. Oof.
| |
wew this is one boring ass song, and I'm not even a Bad Omens hater
| |
meh, really mid for this long of a wait, nothing special
| |
The song was fine, but the ending really did save it. Was expecting more of a 'gradual crescendo' kind of song where it would've gotten real heavy at the end (which would've been cool if done right), but the weird, swelling dark-synth break was unexpected but it worked
| |
this is just a sleep token song
| |
Sleep token copies are about to get so exhausting
| |
Embedded YouTube doesn’t even work lol
| |
My bad, I did this in a rush. I’ll try and get mod to sort coz I’m away at the minute
| |
No worries bro. I’m down to listen to the song it’s just broken at the moment
| |
Wow this was boring. So now they copy Sleep Token?
| |
Sleep Token core is official now it seems
| |
Sleep Token is the best and most important band today. Of course people are gonna copy them.
| |
how shocking the former bmth copycat decided to become a sleep token copycat
| |
Sleep Token is the worst thing to happen to music this decade
| |
lol here we go again with the Sleep Token comments. I personally enjoyed this song and the videos they put out leading up to it make a great story.
Tell me, where did Sleep Token touch you all to make you into a bunch of whiny bitches?
| |
Sleep Token honks
| |
Sleep Token is the worst thing to happen to music this decade [2]
| |
That’s the most dramatic comment I’ve ever seen. Oh horrible for you.
| |
"Tell me, where did Sleep Token touch you all to make you into a bunch of whiny bitches?"
they're a shitty band that's inspired a bunch of even shittier copycats and established bands changing their sound to jump on the bandwagon. they're overhyped, oversaturated and their stans are annoying, as you've helpfully demonstrated.
| |
No one is forcing you to listen to them. People seem to be losing a lot of sleep over this. Get over it. Listen to what you want to listen to.
| |
I don't know who's losing sleep because they don't like a popular band. you must be projecting your own unhealthy obsession onto other people.
| |
Keep telling yourself that, buddy. Whatever helps you sleep at night, my guy.
| |
Sleep Token is the worst thing to happen to music this decade
| |
OMG THEY ARE LULW
| |
Sputnikmusic does not have credible music taste.
| |
How can I trust anyone who 5d Joji and NF
| |
^ hahahahahahaha
| |
These guys starting off as a bmth clone and jumping to a sleep token clone is the least surprising thing ever. Bunch of trend hoppers
| |
Sputnik is full of a lot of ass holes, that’s for sure.
| |
True
| |
The first time I ever heard of NF was when I was like 20 still working fast food and the homeschooled evangelical kid told me to listen to it… that kinda told me everything I need to know about that.
| |
Don't really see the Sleep Token/BMTH-copycat allegations, Noah's vocals don't resemble that of Vessel or Oli and the songwriting just feels more like an extension of their previous albums. Song is good and the music video is stunning; should be a fun album.
| |
This barely resembles Sleep Token what are y'all smoking. They really were a BMTH clone on their first album though. First time I heard The Worst in Me I thought ''there's no way these guys are serious''.
| |
Drab alt rock with overly dramatic vocal inflections, dime a dozen keys and electronics, boring build to a dumb breakdown for the finish… yeah this sounds like sleep token fam
| |

| |
Man, pretty hard not to be a gatekeeping elitist with these bands populating the metal mainstream these days.
| |
I know man like do you have a single fucking riff for me
| |
Man, pretty hard not to be a gatekeeping elitist with these bands populating the metal mainstream these days. [2]
| |
lmfaooo
| |
how big was the stream to begin with
| |
The riff is dead. Long live the riffless metal.
| |
Gonna be honest, The Death of Peace of Mind is a decent record, but I never really got the hype for these guys.
| |
As a death of peace of mind apologist, this is boring shit
| |
“The riff is dead. Long live the riffless metal.”
Riffless metal can be fine if you know how to build tension but this has the most predictable progression ever to a basic ass breakdown. They don’t even have the decency to make the breakdown go hard.
| |
Bad Omens are shitters.
| |
The Death of Piece of Shit
| |
This band was an unoriginal trend chasing money grab from the start so it's not much of a surprise to see them still doing it.
Burning Out was so shamelessly stolen from BMTH's Avalanche that they could probably file a copyright claim and win.
| |
I remember finding these in their uber early days before i moved on from Core and went: This is just a BMTH clone
| |
I paused Downfall of Gaia for this so this bettee be good
Edit: It was not worth pausing, songs okay. Vocals are way too dramatic, ending breakdown ruins it. Song should have stayed in its lane and had a soft vulnerable ending rather than the way it ended.
| |
They've been chasing the success of BMTH since day one, regardless of how much the band likes to deny it.
| |
Im more annoyed by the forced breakdown, like okay you are a core band cool but you dont need to ruin the flow of a song by jamming a breakdown in the end. Also the breakdown was like 80% electronics the fuck
| |
People on the internet love to call you an elitist or a gatekeeper if you don’t like whatever popcore band is the latest flavor of the month like damn crazy we are talking about music on a music discussion forum
| |
Please sir may I have a single riff
| |
Nope. Riffs are so 2010.
| |
😔
| |
disney channel metal
| |
yeah that’s the best way to describe it. The people that eat this shit up are just alt Disney adults.
| |
we all become the old man yelling at clouds eventually and you know i'm ok with that
| |
Like Fantano once said, metal for disney adults.
| |
Damn you know what video of his that is? His negative are usually pretty funny.
| |
“we all become the old man yelling at clouds eventually and you know i'm ok with that”
I like plenty of newer bands, if this band wasn’t ass I’d like it. I love Poppy and even her song with these guys is kinda bad
| |
I think you can actually guess which one lmao
| |
Is it the Sleep Token one? I could’ve sworn I listened to that, I feel like that quote would’ve stuck out to me haha
| |
Correct. It's in the latest one
| |
"yeah that’s the best way to describe it. The people that eat this shit up are just alt Disney adults."
Elder millennial 🤓🤘
| |
ugh god that shit gives me second hand embarrassment
| |
“we all become the old man yelling at clouds eventually and you know i'm ok with that”
You're ok being a withered old fart? Pretty sad.
| |
Core boomer checking in
| |
aren’t you like 30 tundra
| |
being an old fart>>>being in a state of arrested development trying to keep up with shitty music children listen to
| |
The songs overall pretty inoffensive overall but the band doesnt seem to want to carve out its own niche
| |
Inoffensive is a good description, dunno about those Sleep Token comparisons, vocals are neat, but instrumentally it's barely a song, imo.
| |
The vocalist came a crazy long way since barely being able to perform the shit he laid out on their debut, but musically it always stays so damn lazy and dull that I rarely feel anything while listening to their shit.
| |
Only sleeptoken comparisons are the way he is the dramatic delivering of lyrics
| |
It'd be nice to see big core bands derive a little more from the riff centric roots of even early 2000s melocore
I haven't jammed this yet but I presume it goes like "Somber/melodramatic quiet "saucy" cleans into power chord arena rock chorus then oh haha wait we're heavy don't forget 0-0-0-0-0 haha OK up the tuning again we don't sound like we're trying to sleep with your daughter anymore"
It just feels like a gimmick
| |
Its just boring
| |
"The vocalist came a crazy long way since barely being able to perform the shit he laid out on their debut, but musically it always stays so damn lazy and dull that I rarely feel anything while listening to their shit."
Yeah that pretty much sums it up. The guy can sing, but the material is bland.
| |
True metalheads should not listen to that shit! Thank God I'm not that miserable!
| |
Poppy is just a better version of this band. She has the exact same formula. Stale pop metal with oversimplified djent chug "riffs" 95% of the time, along with 5% of heavier songs to remind people she's "still metal to the core". But she's still WAYY better, trust me guys!!!
| |
Finally a good take from Tundra
btw I’m gonna consider that your fourth(and by far best) attempt at a negative spaces review
| |
or is it fifth, idk I lost count
| |
Yeah this one isn't hitting. Just a load of nice production if anything. I'm sure the album will have some bops.
| |
The production is good I’ll give them that, there’s just nothing going on
| |
I actually enjoyed the vibe this song had up until the last minute, then I feel like it went the complete wrong direction.
| |
Honestly good song. It definitely continues the sound of The Death of Peace of Mind, but it's a slower track. They really should have came back with a banger.
| |
Also the Sleep Token comarisons are super cringe. Bad Omens released TDPM before Sleep Token blew up. Regardless the genre was shifting that way anyways.
| |
okay cool story but this song right here that was just made sounds like something sleep token would do
| |
was a little underwhelmed with this when it first came out, but it's really growing on me now. they've really amped up the TDOPOM atmosphere here.
| |
