Iain Cook comments: "Some of the main sources of inspiration for our first album, including 'Talking In My Sleep' were artists that we all share a love for, and a lot of stuff from the 80s. Kate Bush (particularly the Hounds of Love album), Depeche Mode, Prince, Michael Jackson, and also a bunch of the blog-led indie pop music that was around in 2010. Martin particularly was really invested in that stuff and was bringing a lot of fresh sounds and ideas mixed with the classic 80's pop influences that we all loved".

Fixed...

I have to say, I'm not a fan of any of the CHVRCHES songs where the dude sings. It's like Goo Goo Dolls or NUFAN letting their bass players sing on songs... if you have a great vocalist, why are you wasting tracks letting someone else sing?

So, not a fan of this either. Music is nice, vocals... not so much.

Ugh, fuck this band. Insufferable lead singer droning on bland pop crap.

I don't love all the songs where the dude sings but "Under the Tide" from Bones was a great track, one of my favorites.

They know that no one wants to hear him sing, right? I can’t skip these songs fast enough when they come on

Recover’s chorus still rules but that’s like the only song I’ll return to from these guys
