Bell Witch's Future's Shadow Part 1 2023-04-19 by Fernando Alves | 9 Comments | The first of a trilogy of new albums by American doomers Bell Witch, titled Future's Shadow Part 1: The Clandestine Gate, will be out digitally this Friday, April 21st, followed by its physical release on 2LP/2CD/Cassette, June 9th via Profound Lore Records.
The album consists of a single 83-minute track, 'The Clandestine Gate'.
The duo comments: "The Clandestine Gate is the first installment in a trilogy of releases, collectively titled Future's Shadow. In full, the three movements will complete one long form piece that will form a loop (movement one will lead into movement two, two into three, and three back into movement one). The theme is one of cycles- dawn, dusk, night, seasons, years, the lunar cycles, the tides, birth, death, etc…The Clandestine Gate represents dawn and / or spring, initiation, birth, and crossing a threshold into the unknown. This first movement is where the composition comes into focus and is slowly illuminated. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it Friday."
The band have announced an exclusive appearance at this year’s Roadburn Festival on April 21st where they will perform 'The Clandestine Gate' in its entirety.
