Dan McCafferty passed away

2022-11-09 by Fernando Alves | 7 Comments
Dan McCafferty, former lead singer and founding member of the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, has passed away at the age of 76 of unspecified causes. McCafferty's death was confirmed by Nazareth bassist Pete Agnew via social media.

"This is the saddest announcement I ever had to make. Maryann and the family have lost a wonderful loving husband and father, I have lost my best friend and the world has lost one of the greatest singers who ever lived.

Too upset to say anything more at this time."

McCafferty co-founded Nazareth with Pete Agnew, guitarist Manny Charlton and drummer Darrell Sweet in 1968, appearing on all of the band's albums up to 2014's Rock 'n' Roll Telephone.

Guns n Roses version of Hair of the Dog was my introduction to Nazareth. Thank you Axl Rose!
